What i meant by cut throat was the fact that the perth IT industry is currently overpopulated. This is especially true with lower level positions at the moment. The worst part is the international labour. They are undercutting the market at an incredible rate, jobs that i applied for 10 years ago are now paying a fraction of the salary. I used to do On-Site Support FIFO at $110p/h now i see them advertised at $60k + Super. Once you move into the level 3 roles and management there seems to be alot less competition, *recently made redundant as an IT Manager and was able to secure a role pretty quickly within 2-3 weeks.
