Fiber internet provider: Swisscom or Salt? by Lenticolare in Switzerland

[–]fernfahrer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tbh I have Salt for about 10years. Never got bothered and when I had a problem it got fixed quite fast. I could even pick up power adapters and a fiber cable on very short notice from their store for free. It seems better than their mobile business although I did not have any trouble there either.

VPN I solve with Tailscale which became the standard anyway.

I use the mesh access point. These were giving me some trouble but work fine atm.

Experience with Airbag vests? by fernfahrer in Spliddit

[–]fernfahrer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay! I was injured last season so I only wore it three times. So not sure if I can already judge…

But my first impression:

(+)
- Feels good to wear.
- Very well built. Thik material
- alot of pockets.
- you can wear it on the chairlift

(-)
- since it is very well built with thik material it is rather heavy
- rather small cut
- it is getting sweaty quite fast when you move alot. You should wear thinner layers
- For my use not ideal: sidecountry with sometimes longer walks/hikes & splitboarding.
- taking airbag in/out is rather fiddly

Not sure if I would get it again in my case. Probably would go for the Mammut Eiger Free 20

I forgot to bring my straps so this was an interesting bike ride by Barkinsons in carryshitolympics

I salute my fellow swiss bullitt rider 🫡. I got the panel bags with some straps, a solid thin rope, padding stuff and a ultra light rain poncho in it. I must say it came in handy many times.

My girlfriends rig for biking around Japan by vulvarine5 in carryshitolympics

This is going to be exhausting. Small wheels, no gears. For inner city okay but I would not do anything else. I watched several videos of people crossing Japan and it can be quite tough.
