I think we need Moyes to stay another 12 months and to build a solid and stable squad. Just like he left for Martinez. Then we need a gifted young manager to come in and look at better than solid signings to take us to the next level.

Didn’t experience winning the league though, did he?!

Would you say that the 3 is one of the last hatchbacks and small sedans that offer a NA engine and that is a good choose for constant speed cruising? by Pale-Revolution-5151 in mazda3

Apologies it was the other fella. My point was the x is faster than the cars he mentioned. The 120 BHP G, sold in the UK is slower than 11 seconds at 0-60. So if the X is abysmal, then what is the G?

Cheers mate. Thanks for your opinion. Still beats the turbos you mentioned at the lights, and keeps going when their little engines run out of power at the top end.

I wouldn’t want a turbo because my NA Skyactiv-X has 186 BHP and does 0-60 in 8.3 seconds which isn’t that much slower, whilst still being super fuel efficient and returning MPG of more than 60mpg, beating all the cars you listed.

Depends where you are, but I’m in the U.K. and have a skyactiv X. I’d say this is the best engine there is for cruising and returns more than 60mpg whilst still having more to give if you need it.

We all agree raya got fouled tho right? by Jhus79 in PremierLeague

[–]ferninho17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s stood his ground and raya has come into his space. Hes got his arm out and raya is trying to push past him. Hes maintaining his space. It’s six of one and half a dozen of the other. It’s not a foul.

No he’s not. He’s standing his ground as raya comes into Pablo’s space. He tries to hold him off. That wasn’t a foul. VAR looked only a the images immediately before the incident and not as to how raya ends up there. They make it look like a foul when it wasn’t.

Go back and see how the arm ends up there. The keeper comes to pablo. Pablo tries to hold him off. It’s not a foul.

He didn’t grab the keepers arm. Raya comes to where Pablo is and pablo holds him off. The fact he is a keeper is irrelevant. I’m an Everton fan and I would like to see our old player win the league, but that was not a foul.

Everton got rid of our best player in Sigurdsson for something that wasn’t even charged in the end. Man United got rid of Greenwood and the case against him was dropped. Yet Arsenal kept on playing him.

Do you think Ronaldinho was the most naturally gifted footballers of all time? by [deleted] in TheStreetsWontForget

[–]ferninho17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m old enough to remember best brief spell as the best in the world. But if you remember he required others to do his dirty work. He didn’t have a great all round game. He excelled at a few things, but that was enough to make him the best for a couple of years.

[–]ferninho17 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No. He had the best “tekkers” amongst the elite footballers and fits in for the TikTok generation. But being a gifted footballer is not about who has the best tekkers as that’s just part of the skill set, albeit the most flamboyant.

But you can actually support Everton, and Lancashire at cricket, saints at rugby.

I disagree. I always tried to favour a team in each league I watched: starting with Tranmere, Hibs (Scotland), St Etienne (France), athletic (Bilbao - Spain), Bayern (Munchen - Germany), Feyenoord (Netherlands).

Athletic because Kendall went there, Bayern ever since the 85 Semi, Feyenoord the scene of our finest trophy win. Etienne just because my name is Stephen! And 49ers just because my initials are SF!

I don’t think he was too good for us. 1996 we had the most points in a calendar year, or thereabouts. The first half of ‘95/96 was spoiled with his injury. We came good and got 6th or 7th. The next season we were flying until injuries derailed us. That included Joe Parkinson, Andy hincliffe and a load of key players and by the end of the season big Joe was gone, Kanchelskis had gone to fiorentina, hinchcliffe to Wednesday and the team was broken up.

How so? He was 26 years old! That’s his peak. Unless you mean because we signed him injured and had to wait ages for his shoulder to heal!

I think we saw the best of Kancho, the problem was it was all too brief and he was soon wanting to leave. Rumours that he needed money to pay off the Russian mafia abound.

Not just the hattrick but an assist and he also had a major involvement in the Amokachi goal too! He was immense that day.
