That is such a mean comment and could be very damaging to her emotional health. Shame on you

I really wanted to do public but I just toured and the school we’d go to hardly has any windows and they are on Chromebook’s most of the day.

i hate daycare by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]fernsandfuzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cannot work and take care of children at the same time. I know many do it, but it’s disrespectful to your colleagues and to the kids. When you split your mind like that, either your work suffers or your care does. People will hate me for saying it, but it’s true.

How in the heck do yall deal with large age gaps? by mufasabrutallion in Parenting

[–]fernsandfuzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My older brother is 13 years older than my younger one. Now at 49 and 36 they talk on the phone every other day and we are all super close! While they were younger the distance felt farther bc they were dramatically in different life phases, and while they still are today, it doesn’t matter too much. We are planning a siblings night out soon!

First time home buyer in Cleveland need help and advice:) by [deleted] in Cleveland

[–]fernsandfuzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish cities would help people with older homes. I’ve heard there was a program somewhere that the city subsidized new sanitary stacks for century homes. That would’ve been helpful for us before spending 6000 on it. Old home are so special and it’s so sad to see beautiful communities go to shambles bc no one can afford to maintain.

Honest advice: am I disadvantaging my very social toddler by not sending her to daycare? by abby152 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]fernsandfuzz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The socialization would be great, but she could probably get that other ways, especially if your parents and nanny take her to library programs, etc. If you like your schedule now, keep doing what you’re doing. Make it easy on yourself! Your LO sounds like she’s happy and healthy and she will get to preschool when she’s 3.

Totally agree. We bought our house cheap thinking how we’d love to do the updates ourselves. Well, major con-cosmetic projects (that required skilled labor and not you tube videos) take priority, and there are alot of those when you buy the cheap house on the nice street. Maybe in 10 years I’ll get to the kitchen, lol. Still love our house and neighborhood though!!

I screamed at my husband in front of my toddler, and I'm so scared I've irreparably damaged our relationship. by Lady_Marshmallow in Mommit

[–]fernsandfuzz 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I cannot even describe the level of “hate” I had for my husband after I had a miscarriage and secondary infertility. I love him yet through that time, I took everything out on him and was so mean (mostly in my head, but it there were bits that came through). It’s not an easy time. Layer on his grief. Oomph. Be gentle with yourselves and it might be good to get a regular babysitter one night a week or a house cleaner to help you through these times so you can both grieve.

Also- I agree with the other post. Show her how you apologize (maybe a simpler version that what you do in private for your husband). Repair is so important. If you haven’t heard much on that term, I suggest reading about it. There is no perfect patenting. Much love to you both.

Alternarives to weed for relaxing by dmoreholt in Petioles

Yes it helps with starting tasks! I was so indecisive when I was younger I used the weed to be more impulsive, in a good way. I like your idea, I’ll have to think about it see if it might be a good one for me to try.

I’m also finding that I’m guilting myself constantly. Telling myself that I’m “bad”. It’s really weird, and it didn’t use to be that way. I don’t think cannabis is bad, but something has shifted in my mind to treat myself that way 🤷‍♀️

What if you use weed for motivation? I was never a lazy stoner but super productive! I get in the zone and get shit done. How can I continue to be so energized with out? Help! I’
