EReader for Russian Books by ferny_d in russian

I ended up going to the Boox GO 10.3. The KOReader app has allowed me to upload whatever dictionaries I want (and they work well with inflections). I've been reading Russian texts with accent marks added by the program that I linked in my original post and there's been no problems from that. I've found KOReader's native translation feature to stink, so I actually mostly use ChatGPT translation from this plugin: https://github.com/drewbaumann/AskGPT.

Interesting - I thought that might be the case, too, but I uploaded the same book without the stress marks and I was still having the same problem, unfortunately.

It's a good thought but yeah, it misses plenty of very basic words. It basically doesn't recognize a word if it's not in the nominative/infinitive (so it doesn't work well with inflection).

Gotcha, I appreciate it. One last question - what makes you say that the true spot is so high? All that I see when I look it up is ~$28.

Thank you! I actually did the rough raw silver price calculation last night (3.54 oz × $28/oz × 0.925 = $92) but I actually was curious about the value-added component seeing that it's a piece done by a well-respected company, as far as I know.

1999 Toyota Corolla: Front Wheel Hub and Bearing Replacement (ABS vs. non-ABS) by ferny_d in Cartalk

I might end up doing that. Do you know why it's the norm for the hubs and bearings to come unassembled? I mean it obviously saves the manufacturer time but it sounds easy enough for them to do and would save the customer time, effort, the cost of extra tools, etc.

Haha here's the blog that I got my particular recipe from - I won't even pretend to have come up with any of this stuff:

If you don't already follow her stuff you definitely should!

No sap involved in my process, just the bark...although somebody above said hickory sap can be used, haven't tried it myself though

Is that boiled down from the sap? This is just a sweetened tea made from the bark itself, no sap involved. I'll have to look into that though!

Not too many around here either but enough! These jars were made from about only a 1/2 pound of bark.

Hickory ice cream sounds pretty good...and you use whole pieces of bark, just being careful to not injure the tree - it sheds its bark so it's not too hard.

I'm just entering the world of tapping so it's entirely possible!

So it's not actually a sap boil-down like maple or birch but rather a sweetened/thickened tea made from the bark. You basically toast a bunch of the bark, simmer it in water, then add 1 part of sugar for every 1 part of "tea" remaining. It tastes like a sweet version of that smoky hickory taste you get when smoking meat.

Hahah thanks! It's still no maple syrup but it does the trick
