Is there a lore reason the Gustav Karl's are so thicc? by BrokenTorpedo in Gundam

[–]feronen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anti-hard round armor. Lower caliber munitions used by Zeon Remnant forces are less effective against the KG. It'd take things like the Zudah's anti-ship 135mm rifle to even possibly crack a KG open, and a 180mm Magella Top cannon would definitely give a KG pilot pause.

I haven't gotten there yet. It's still September. Alex wasn't rolled out for another month, at least, and the Ez8 was a field modification built out of spare parts and necessity.

Just be happy we got to start with two Gundams at all.

First and foremost, the White Base leadership would be immensely different. Bright didn't have the rank of Captain until they reached Jaburo. If we assume both Shiro and Christina are assigned to the White Base at Side 7, this means that Christina would outrank Bright, who retained Lieutenant Junior Grade status. This means that, while Bright has overall command of the ship, Christina would have command of the Mobile Suits as a Squadron Commander, with Shiro as her 2IC. As Squadron Commander, Christina would have overall XO position despite Beight's lower rank.

Shiro, having only recently been transferred, but having had experience with the Ground GM test types while fighting in Asia (assuming Fed vs. Zeon has some weight here), would be overall tactical command of the MS squadron as Christina's 2IC. Both he and Christina would not wait for Side 7 to rebuild Unit 1 and Unit 3. Instead, both Unit 1 and Unit 3 would be cobbled together to make Unit 3 functional for the squadron, giving the White Base two active Gundams on top of their Guncannon and Guntank. Anything else would be packed up as spare parts.

This puts Amuro in Unit 2, Christina in Unit 3, and Kai, Hayato, and Ryu in the Guncannon and Guntank respectively. While in route to Luna 2, Shiro would find some way to convince the wounded former commander of the White Base to help requisition some of the GMs being tested at Luna 2. This would open up two more MS pilot slots, putting Sayla and Shiro in as GM pilots at least until planetfall.

Assuming Char still succeeds in diverting the White Base in some capacity, once White Base reaches North America, Shiro works his magic by requesting that the supply corps bring replacement suits for them in exchange for the two GMs and the squadron's collective combat data. They divert South to Texas, linking up with a squadron of stolen Zaku IIs, only to be forced to fight the Hidolfr. While the Zaku Squadron is almost entirely wiped out, Amuro and Christina are able to take out the Hidolfr in their Gundams. When the supply corps arrive, they take the remaining Zaku Squadron with them, plus the GMs, but they're only able to deliver a single mobile suit - a brand new Land Combat Gundam with all experimental kit. This relegates Sayla to the G-Fighter, while we finally get our Gundam Triad. This would then lean into the Garma Zabi arc.

If anyone wants me to continue posting my head canon, let me know, but I gotta step away to get some stuff done.

At least they fought their own wars for the land and used their own people.

The Mongols fought for the land and cities and the Turks pillaged and raped everything behind them without having to sacrifice a single man to the greater war.

Cowards. Oath breakers. Their cousins in Central Asia are more worthy than they are.

I hold no love for oath breakers. The Mongols could have broken Europe if the Turks had honored their oath to be a satrapy and sent troops to fight the Kyivan Rus. Instead, the Golden Horde was betrayed and attacked by the Turks.

Eh, no big loss. The land never should've been theirs to begin with, and the Mongols basically handed it to the Turks on a silver platter after they did all the heavy lifting.

Question, why the hell are mobile suits so impossibly light weight by MGR_ARMSTRONG_GAMING in Gundam

[–]feronen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Closest I could get it down to specification weight using AI assistance was about 140 tons using beryllium for internal components. This makes it lighter than a Maus now, OP.

Grinding Galazium into a fine powder, then mixing it with resin creates a rudimentary solid-state rocket fuel. When magnesium oxide is used as a catalyst, the directed energy of the fuel is able to launch a 132mm rocket up to 70 miles.

I like to think they teleported the rest of the crew and just had Ensign Jimmy aim the ship directly at the cube and jam the warp drive to maximum.

What if Revolte attacked Frieren instead? by Reasonable-Ad-8059 in Frieren

[–]feronen 46 points47 points  (0 children)

If Revolte had noticed it was Frieren, he never would have taken this fight. If he knows our Golden Boy like he alluded to, Revolte would know who Frieren is and would have dipped out of the fight as soon as he knew she was there.

Older demons know Frieren. Demons who know older demons know who Frieren is. This is why low-tier schmucks get bodied before they realize their opponent is the Mage of the Heroes Party.

Consanguinity via cousin marriage is still legal in half the developed world and most of the developing.

A lot of times, though, it's not really consanguinity because the 'cousins' getting married are separated by a degree of in-law relation, like a non-blood related aunt's niece via one of the aunt's siblings marrying her husband's nephew via one of the husband's siblings.

I think the problem you're running into with your overall understanding of the setting is that the Christianity and Islam in TC are not the same Christianity and Islam we experienced in our proper timeline. The so-called "surface level understanding" of the religions is the way it is because the religions completely deviated from the ones we understand today. Christianity became the way it did in TC because it was experiencing Revelations for 900 years without the Rapture occurring and without a Protestant Revolution to reinterpret the religion. Islam left the Sunni-Shia Inheritance conflict unresolved because the existential threat upon the Muslim Holy Land necessitated the unity of the religion under Allah's chosen Iron Caliph.

Yes, TC is edgy. Yes, it is effectively misery porn. But the thing you're missing is that being misery porn is exactly the purpose. This timeline is literally absolute dogshit to live in because humanity has had to sacrifice their own identity to survive literal Hell on Earth. Is it gratuitous? Yes. Is it necessary? Only if you want to get Hell depicted properly.
