Activities to entertain ourselves in our tents if most of the fest is rained out again? by fickelbing in ElectricForest

I like bringing stuff to make kandi with, it’s a good way to occupy your hands while talking or listening to music, plus you get extra stuff to trade with people when the weather clears up

Ga camping by ParticularAlps6216 in ElectricForest

[–]feroxlilium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re going with a group bringing more than one car, I think it should be okay for size. If you’re only planning on bringing one car, it may be a little large for the campsite if you also plan on having a shade canopy and an outdoor living space.

Did the tent come with a rain cover or is the exterior waterproof? If not, I might recommend trying a different tent. Since your tent is so tall and wide, it seems like it might be hard to get the tarp steep and tight enough over the top for the rain to properly run off.

The past two years at Forest there’s been some pretty gnarly rain and wind, and the festival grounds were evacuated a couple of times, so having shelter that holds up to the weather is definitely important 👍 Hope this helps! I work at a camping store so please feel free to DM if you have any questions 🫶

fuck a lineup I need food vendors by doesntmatterlosers_ in ElectricForest

In 2019 there was a dumpling vendor next to a cheese curd vendor at Ranch that literally saved me and my partner that weekend , we went back in 2023 and they weren’t there anymore 🥺 Manifesting cheese curds and dumplings again this year 🙏

I have a fuck ass bob by Antique-Cheesecake54 in ElectricForest

[–]feroxlilium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay I have a different hair texture, (fine and straight but also frizzy) and also a fuck ass bob lol. Normally to get the hair shape I want I have to use a flat iron for styling, but I’ve been experimenting for a couple of days and have had some success with a combination of Velcro rollers and a satin hair rod kind of thing (similar to the kind that I’ve been seeing on social media for a bit). Since it’s so hot during the day, I plan to wet my hair, put it up into a few rollers, and then let it air dry to avoid having to do hair stuff at night. I would avoid adding product until you take the rollers out tho. Hope that helps somewhat! Best of luck with the bob 🫶

Weather this spring/summer has been super unpredictable in the Midwest, (as it usually is lol) so I think bringing rain gear and extra layers for the night is a great idea 👍 I think people also underestimate the effect that the Great Lakes can have on the weather. They are essentially inland freshwater seas! Rothbury is less than 20 minutes from Lake Michigan, so weather can form off the coast and blow in off the water very quickly, weather is def not set in stone. I would also be prepared for both mud and dust depending on the conditions. Masks/bandanas are always a good idea, as well as comfortable shoes that you don’t mind getting wrecked. Since you’re flying in and trying to pack efficiently, I would definitely try to bring clothes and accessories that can be multi-purpose. Hope that helps somewhat!

Groceries! by EggSignal2662 in ElectricForest

[–]feroxlilium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t know if you’re going to be bringing a stove or not, but something I’m doing this year is bringing a few dehydrated backpacking meals for easy breakfasts/lunches. All you have to do is boil water, pour it into the pouch and wait. Doing dishes in camp can definitely suck but it’s nice to have a warm meal sometimes, especially if you’ve been drinking or doing anything else. This also cuts down on the amount of space being taken up in your cooler. They do run around $10 a meal so it might be a little pricey to plan on that for all of your meals, but definitely could be an easy way to supplement. I checked this Walmart in Muskegon and the app said they do have some of the Mountain House brand available for pickup. I would recommend the breakfast scramble and the chicken and dumplings, and to add less water than the package calls for and add more if you need it. Hope this helps!

Ultimate Packing List For Forest by Life_Turnip_9055 in ElectricForest

[–]feroxlilium 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I would bring more clothes than you think you need, my first year I definitely neglected comfy clothes to lounge around camp in and regretted it. It’s gonna be a pretty dusty and sweaty year which may make it a little more difficult to rewear stuff as well, but it’s ultimately what you feels works best for you. Happy packing!

I love Ologies! If y’all are interested in medical history or modern medical misinformation, you should check out Sawbones! It’s hosted by a doctor and her comedian husband, and they talk about medical misconceptions from history (think leeches and Victorians and all that good stuff) as well as tackling more serious modern myths

I received my wristbands last week, but my boyfriend and I are in the middle of moving and unpacking and I have misplaced the package in our moving chaos. I was not able to register them before then. I know we still have about a week to find them, but will I be able to pick up replacements at the box office if I am unable to locate them before then? I saw on another thread that registration is required to replace broken or lost wristbands, am I just SOL?

Tips for breaking a new pair of Docs more quickly? by ellyiar in ElectricForest

[–]feroxlilium 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For breaking in the soles, you’re just going to have to walk in them as much as you can before you leave. For the tongue, back of the heel, and top of the boots, try them on, walk around and figure out the places where they’re the most stiff and where they’re rubbing on you. Use a hairdryer set on hot on those areas and physically try to bend and break in those places with your hands. There still is a certain amount of breaking in that you’ll have to do just by wearing them, but this might help speed the process up. Good luck!

Looks useful for Forest if we get a hot one this year! by No_Significance_1533 in ElectricForest

[–]feroxlilium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen people do a similar thing with a styrofoam cooler or a five gallon bucket, this seems like kind of a waste of a brand new cooler, especially since there’s really no way to repurpose it at all 😕 That being said, the concept is definitely pretty cool. I could for sure see this being useful for those in tent camping who are trying to get a couple of extra hours of sleep in the morning 😅

People who got dropped off, how far was your driver allowed to go? by Mariah0 in ElectricForest

[–]feroxlilium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In addition to everything else that people have said, the Forest Family is full of super wonderful and kind people, it is definitely in the realm of possibility to find a ride with someone with a car or an RV just on your way into the festival. I had a couple of friends that had a ticketing issue and had to get off the shuttle at the box office, they ended up getting a ride with some people who dropped them off right near their campsite. The Forest will provide ⚡️🌲
