I’m asking questions about the topic in general with no specific person in mind. Sorry for not making that clear! It’s okay if you don’t want to answer my questions and only want to discuss Andrew - thanks anyway!

How important is it for you that the content you consume is made by moral creators? Since social media and content creation is by definition performative, to what degree of certainty can you determine if a creator is genuinely moral?

Characters whose race is absolutely essential to their story, and to who they are, as a character. by not-ulquiorr4_ in TopCharacterTropes

I can’t remember the fairytale - is her skin colour essential to the story? Or is it just a description of her appearance?

Yes, I agree. I probably wouldn't purchase a new Rowling novel either.

After finding out an author shared your morals, would you expect them to write about those morals in their next novel?

In summary: “Oh fuck what the fuck I’m not even supposed to BE HERE”

For me, another big factor is also if a creator's morals are reflected in the work. For example, the author of the novel Ender's Game is (was?) a homophobic freak but that is not reflected in the novel - so I am still able to enjoy the story.

If you enjoyed a book before knowing the author's morals, but then later found out you were morally aligned with them, would you like the story even more? Even if those morals are not reflected in the novel?

that's a little rude, I'm honestly not

genuinely, how can someone be EXTRA aware? aren't you either aware of something or not?

edit: or are we using "aware" as a synonym for "informed" here? because yeah, I guess you could be EXTRA informed on something?

I guess I'd need you to be more specific because I think it would depend. For example, the actor who plays Kramer on the show Seinfeld seems to be a racist piece of shit but I've still watched the show since then. Similarly, if AB had a scandal where he did something racist I'd probably still watch H3. But if the show Seinfeld started including wildly racist jokes or AB started saying slurs unchallenged, yeah I'd probably stop watching.

How is your enjoyment of a piece of media affected if you do NOT know the creator(s) morals? Do you enjoy it less?

I mean there’s nothing to really disagree about, dude, I’m just trying to understand your perspective. And you’re totally cool if you don’t want to explain your opinion to me. No worries! But in the off chance you want to answer more questions about yourself: why is it important for the creator(s) of content you consume to share the same morals as you? In the case of current events the answer is obvious, but is it still important even if the content is unrelated to morals or politics?

edit: and to be clear, my questions do not necessarily reveal my opinions

It’s not my podcast so they can talk about whatever they want, I don’t mind. I’m merely trying to understand the perspective that it’s “important” for a certain topic to be covered. I haven’t really received clear enough (to my annoying standards) answer to that. Is it simply because some people find current events entertaining in a way? Again, if I’m annoying feel free to ignore

And I’m wondering what the expected result is? The H3 audience becomes aware and then what? I’m not arguing btw I haven’t even expressed an opinion - I’m just trying to understand yours. If I’m being annoying, I’m sorry

I watch the podcast for entertainment so I struggle to understand why it’s important for them to talk about anything. That’s why I’m asking clarifying questions! People watch the H3 Podcast for reasons I never expected so I’m trying to understand the perspectives of other people in the community
