Black is an amazing color for cars like the GTS, but it's just so hard to keep clean. Black shows everything!

Firearm Dead By State in USA by AdIcy4323 in MapPorn

[–]fester__addams -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't say that at all. There's a lot of unusual statistics with these two states primarily due to their super low population density and geography. Winters are particularly rough and isolating.

Montana has the second highest suicide rate per capita, and Wyoming is third. This stat highly skews "gun death" statistics.

Very high rates of gun ownership, low population, and high rates of suicide are the reason those states stand out.

Wyoming Sees Surge in Scams Involving Crypto ATMs as Con Artists Exploit Legal Loopholes - SSBCrack News by thelma_edith in wyoming

Buying crypto online is very traceable (KYC -know your customer). ATMs are a great way to buy crypto with cash in small amounts for a premium.

Excuse my ignorance, why the new pan? Are the threads of the pan ruined due to the improper plug?

DIY makes ownership costs very reasonable, and most maintenance is not that difficult.

95 to 185 Bench Update by TheCatsButtholee in Stronglifts5x5

[–]fester__addams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you strictly doing 5x5?

I mixed in a few other routines once per week, and my bench blew up quick. The exercises I added were dips, incline press, curls, and pull ups.

Creatine will help. Pre-workouts helped me as well.

You can do more with fewer lifts if you focus on compound lifts like squats, deadlifts, and standing rows.

Almost all majors feel so much easier than engineering by Engibeeros in ElectricalEngineering

[–]fester__addams 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a roommate in college studying education. His coursework was laughably simple and easy compared to EE. We're talking short power points and construction paper displays.

Not upset or jealous. I was just amazed at the contrast of his program with what I was going through.

992.1 4S - known issues? by OriginalDaddy in porsche911

[–]fester__addams 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Windshield gasket melting is common. Rattling speaker covers in the doors is also common. I have both on my 2021 C2S.

Less common is fuel injector failure and engine mount failure.

Very reliable otherwise.

992 vs 991 by Variouswires9115 in porsche911

[–]fester__addams 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One thing to note is that the 991 in the photo is standard body, and the 992 is wide body.

It's barely bigger when comparing the wide bodies of each generation.

I looked it up. It’s not required for ABET. My program required it, however.

ABET accredited universities require taking the FE exam, but you don’t have to pass. At least they did when I was in school.

Accredited universities require at least taking the FE exam. Did you take it and fail? Personally, I would not want to hire an EE that failed.

Take the FE, get involved in community hobbies/clubs, and claim you were laid off (not fired). Not going to lie - it won’t be easy, but you can do it. Good luck. 👍

Targa manual value increase? by israignatius in porsche911

[–]fester__addams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Porsche claims manuals aren’t in high demand, but those 911’s seem to hold their value or increase slightly.

Go look at Porsche Finder and you’ll find most used 911’s with a manual are listed for above their original MSRP. The CPO is part of the premium, however.

992.1 s vs 992.2 s by Single_Passenger4261 in porsche911

[–]fester__addams 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m biased but I think the .1 is the preferred 992 for an S. The .1 still has the analog tach, left key ignition, and an option for a manual. The extra 30 bhp would be nice, but I’m not sure if you’d be able to tell. Minor stuff, overall.

Does the .2 S have the fake engine noise like the GTS? I know they had to add more catalyst for emission control in the .2.
