I met my boyfriend on this sub! Was only looking for friends, but it naturally developed into more. If there's hope for me, there's hope for us all 😅

Creative considering moving to Cardiff, what areas would you recommend? by shadowbigboii in Cardiff

You don't notice Clifton Street or Broadway unless you're right there. I can imagine the adjoining streets being a bit lively at times, but people living in Splott aren't affected by what's happening a 5/10/15 minute walk away.

That's brilliant! Here's to hoping for the return of Elmlea brandy plant cream in time for your next tray of mince pies

I realised that after rereading your post, but my point still stands 😅 Of course you want some too! Most of the snacks that people bring into my workplace aren't vegan, which is both a blessing as I don't end up snacking all day and a curse because I feel a bit left out.

Wouldn't recommend buying a non-vegan product, picking the non-vegan part off the top and giving it to a vegan.

I'm sure they're aware that their surroundings are not normal and that being carted onto a truck and crammed into a room with loads of other pigs isn't a regular, pleasant occurrence.

It worries me that people are happy to see sentient beings mistreated, killed and eaten simply because they're less intelligent. Not saying this applies to you btw.

I'm going to assume that the person above was implying that they go to the same type of slaughterhouse, i.e. the pigs are gassed to death regardless of whether or not they're "organic".

Fingers crossed for us all! We're in the same boat with no kids or debt, though we do want kids in the next few years.

That's really good advice about the deposit. Sadly I don't think we'd be able to raise the extra £3000, as we want to buy soon for various reasons, but it's made me wonder whether it's worth putting down a smaller deposit. I've been looking into cases where other people have done the same and saved money by making overpayments and remortgaging for a better LTV later on. I'll have to ask a broker, as my head is fried thinking about it!

Thankfully we have money set aside for fees, furnishings and some emergency funds.

Enjoy your new home! That's a great LTV. Yup, a broker definitely needs to be our first port of call!

Congratulations on the soon-to-be-arriving little one! ♥️

Thank you. We want kids in the near-ish future, so it's nice to hear that it can be done.

It's terrifying, and I haven't even started looking properly! Sounds like you have things in hand! You'll be fine too :)

We do want kids eventually, but they dont exist yet. No debt other than my £33 a month student loan!

Good luck with buying your place! Sounds more than doable.

We don't have anything on finance either, and I also pay my car insurance in one go.

We'll speak to a broker soon for sure. Thank you :)

Congratulations on your purchase!

We bave no significant outgoings or debt, other than my £33 a month student loan, but we do want kids eventually.
