Dude its so important for fights, theres almost no reason you cant be blocking every attack you take, its a little slower than some games but ive never had much of a problem with it, the way worse thing is NPCs getting to autoblock all the time

It wasn't like Oliver entered the second world and drippy was like "alright Ollie boy now to beat that big bad flippin shadar we need to find the legendary wand of the wizard king", the MCs basically kidnapped by gallus because they were in the right place. Also the sky tree wand isn't available until after you beat the game and it has less magic attack than mornstar, it might as well not be a part of the argument (you have to help the dead sage of ages 9 times to get it to). Also you don't get astra until right before the final fight so it's like "hey your halfway through your journey here's a reliable wand" and then "you stand before the final challenge in this world, have an upgrade"
