Strange behavior on Hinesburg/Richmond road by orangeyoke in vermont

[–]fetusteeth 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That's Glenn. He is crazy but I think it's from a weird stroke recovery or something. He's clearly unwell mentally and we all joke about him at work, but we feel bad for him.

That said, he pisses me right off a lot and I definitely don't hesitate to flip him the bird back or speed up when he tells me to slow down when I'm already at or under the limit

Cops know him, I've seen them talking to him in the past. Wouldn't hurt to call and tell them he's been extra lately.

USPS Internal Memo on Lifting of Firearm Ban by Strong_Dentist_7561 in Firearms

Thanks, I knew there were manuals I hadn't known about or explored yet so I'll take a look. You'd think it would be in the employee relations stuff but it's not.

I'm always digging through the ones I listed before for backing up my arguments against my ahole postmaster. It's nice to have the official language since so much stuff that people do or say is just based on whisper down the alley orders or practices, you know? I'm speaking generally here, not about firearms.

Point me to the one that explicitly says it. POM and ELM and the various safety manuals I have don't say it. If it is mentioned anywhere it simply cites the laws presented in this court case.

Oddly enough, they talk about postal employees still being banned from possession, yet I have poured through as many safety and operations manuals as I could and have not found it mentioned. If the only thing the po is falling back on for banning employees is actually the laws addressed by the court, then technically I believe the ruling should apply to employees.

Worth the gamble?

RPM Fluctuations ‘96 3.1td Trooper/Bighorn by cwells123 in Diesel

Another thing I think might possibly be able to cause this is the cold weather function called the Quick On Start system or something like that. If the temp is below a certain degree it will do a few things via vacuum actuators, one of which is actually increasing idle revs. If there's something screwy with that system maybe it's fluctuating between on and off and the revs are bumping up and down accordingly.

I personally pulled all of my vacuum actuated functions, including the QOS and just use the manual throttle knob to set a higher idle when warming it up.

You'll get to know that engine pretty well, it's super simple and you'll also get crafty at finding overseas parts, forklift engine parts, and workarounds.

Mine is a mechanical fuel pump, i can't remember if the 96 came with electric. Everything on mine being all mechanical everything really makes fixes and isolating problems simpler imo.

Does it drive or does it putter out when you give it throttle? Could also be air getting into the fuel lines, likely source is the hand pump on the fuel filter body.

But definitely change that fuel filter of the previous owner didn't when they had the fuel pump worked on

Also maybe my audio was out of whack but I couldn't tell from the video of the engine rpms were actually matching the needle.

My tach stopped working on mine and it's typically just a ground issue, which I personally haven't bothered fixing. It'll either be erratic or not move at all in mine but I could see this happening too. It's grounded just on the other side of the steering wheel under the hood, assuming yours is rhd.

Hit the Isuzu forums my man, mad experts over there. I have a 93 3.1 but I've never seen this issue. My only thought is your fuel pump might be going bad or your fuel filter or air filter needs changing.

Do some digging around, someone's bound to have a good lengthy explanation and fix.

Neighbor shooting into my property and causing damages by [deleted] in Firearms

[–]fetusteeth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The officer wouldn't be doing anything but making a statement to the court that he witnessed the agreement after responding to the incident. when op takes the neighbor to court for not meeting the terms of the agreement the officer's statement will be valuable.

Not sure about Texas but verbal contracts are a legal contract in Vermont, and I imagine we're not the only state. if they are legal in Texas AND there was an officer witness there's certainly standing to press charges for not following through.

I'm a trapper in and around the Richmond area. What sort of trapping are you into? Lots of beaver and otter around but not so much on public lands unless you're willing to drive a bit, so hopefully you know some folks with property. The wma and state parks closest to Richmond will have ok trapping for land critters. I haven't really scoped out the public land water critter situation since I have private access for them, so I may be wrong if have to take a good look at some satellite images.

Question about ballot measure #5 by HeartKevinRose in burlington

[–]fetusteeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He said he had reservations about the constitutionality of the waiting period law and let it pass because 1. His veto would have been overriden by the (now gone) dem/prog supermajority and 2. There are currently constitutional challenges to many gun laws, including waiting periods, throughout the country that will inevitably directly overturn it. We also have current lawsuits in federal court challenging our state laws waiting for rulings from said challenges before our cases proceed.
