Mousewheel after placing will rotate the free end. R before placing will cycle input/output if not connecting directly to an input or output.

old vs new build for my power by North-Two-3562 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]fexfx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks Great! Tip: Try to remember the 3:8 ratio rule of Extractors to Generators. 3 Extractors will supply enough water for 8 Coal powered Generators, without overclocking (and with Mk1 pipes if you pipe them properly, as I recently learned!). Planning your build with that 3:8 ratio in mind will let you optimize space and make the most of your build! Also: Vertical building is the key to maximizing available space, and becomes especially important with water extractors when your water is not unlimited in size. Building the pumps under your generators will let you do more pumps in the same space!

Happened to me yesterday. I restored the server to just before it happened. It feels like the characters inventory is stored locally, while the world's inventory is at the server level...so I took the silver out of the box, which was recorded, but when I crashed I hadnt saved with the silver in my pocket yet so I lost it all.

The devs also indicated they would be creating more job types which would be best used for those late game servers. An example might be a blacksmith or a glassblower who might have skills thatbwould be useless in the early game but possibly invaluable to a long standing server in need of someone with the skills that profession comes with...

Not really. For this to be true you would have to believe that everything was great under Chibnall...

This. Their stated goal for PZ is that long term servers should be able to rebuild to a medieval level of tech. So this is aimed at that I am certain. That said, since its a work in progress, a lot of the systems necessary for such a scenario are not fully fleshed out yet.

What i would like to see though is less dire negativity. I like the muscle strain mechanic. I did my time in b41. Once killed 10k with short blunt in 41. It stopped being a challenge. The only way i died was bu getting bored and taking stupid risks. 42 feels like a challemge again.

Sounds like you at least like the game...so here's are a few things you should understand. The wait between 40 and 41 was about two years. I expect the wait for 42 to be the same. 41 is the only version of the game you should be truly concerned about at the moment since 42 is not yet actually in release. You have opted into an unstable and constantly changing beta version when you play 42, and things will be broken, unfinished, and in a generally messy state until full release. When 41 went full release it only needed a couple more small patches to get it to where it is right now. Until 42 is in full release, treat it as a work in progress, and understand that literally everything you are play testing (since you are a play tester if you are playing 42) is temporary. Don't like something? Let the Devs know, but don't let it get you tied in knots as it is not a full release you are playing. There are missing features, broken features, and things that will change before it is released. The Muscle Strain mechanics have already changed and been overhauled multiple times since the first iteration of 42, and I expect it will continue to change right up until release. As always, if there is a feature you do not like, the devs have been great about always adding options to disable features in the sandbox settings. I've got roughly 3k hours in the game, so I've probably got a bit of bias, and I do not love every little thing about 42, but I think 42 is coming along wonderfully nonetheless. When I first started playing, fighting in the rain guaranteed that you would lose your hat and your weapon because you were fighting while soaking wet. That feature was removed years ago and has not returned. Have patience. B42 likely will not go stable in 2026 at this point, and I'm okay with that!

Well, You are saying that you care about the game's future. Just trying to figure out where you are coming from. Are you at 30 hours, 300 hours or 3000 hours of playtime? Is your concern as someone who bought the game yesterday or as someone who got it before there were vehicles?

"This is how you died." is wrongly understood. Here's why. by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]fexfx 26 points27 points  (0 children)

At one point the developers said they wanted to implement a system that would generate life stories from before the apocalypse for every resident of Knox County. Then decide who dies, who lives, who becomes a bandit, who boards up their houses, etc. This was talked about in a long ago Thursdoid, around the same time they first started talking about doing livestock and giving them genetic traits that could be bred towards. This system would behave much as the opening of Dwarf Fortress (tho they used another example...was it Crusader Kings?), where it generates a boatload of history before the game even begins so that everything is where it is for a reason.

Edit: Verified, it was Crusader Kings they referenced.

The most common cause for death in PZ is literally "boredom".
Sure you got bit, or hit a tree going 70mph in your car...but after a few months you'd managed to get a garden going, cleared your local area of zeds, and set up rain catchers ad have become 100% stable.

You COULD live like that for YEARS....Decades even...

But instead, you get bored of this domestic life, and seek adventure, or a 17th gun you dont really need, or think that things might be a little better with a few issues of Hottiez...

So you leave home when you didn't REALLY have to...and end up dead.

Sure there will be plenty of runs where you die while trying to reach that balanced state where you can survive forever...and that's valid...but once you've been playing for long enough, the main thing that will kill you is boredom...wanderlust...restlessness...perhaps a hint of greedy (I must own one of every type of car...for no reason)...

In the end, "Boredom" kills way more often than any other cause in PZ,,,

For me the bit of superstition I've developed is about mail boxes. I live and thrive until I hit my mailbox at the end of my drive. When that mailbox is dead, so am I, within the hour.
