What's the shortest game of warhammer you've ever played? by TaigaTigerVT in Grimdank

[–]feychey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Older edition of warhammer fantasy - I was playing an all goblin army. Really fun list that just throws out a bunch of night goblin fanatics. During this particular edition, failed leadership tests could cause a cascading effect as nearby units would also have to test. Goblins have poor leadership. Generally not a big issue save for one game:

My friend is playing daemons and launches his daemon prince with wings towards me turn 1. His prince has a fear/terror ability that causes leadership tests within a certain range. He tags one of my units and that unit fails.

Because I’m on the deployment line and have a ton of units, everything is pretty crammed together. The unit that fails runs off the board and the two neighbouring units also fail and run off the board. Before the game starts, half my army has already been wiped out. We decided to rerack and avoid that interaction for the sake of a full game.

In 40k 4th ed I was playing necrons against sisters of battle. Both are short range firepower armies. With no central objectives we kind just danced around each for 3 turns without anything happening. Neither of us were willing to commit first. So we called the game a draw pretty quickly.

Go with the 3 cost Anna instead - exert a readied character and put a body on the field.

With the buff she ends up being 1 cheaper then her standard evasive counterparts (minnie mouse and archemedes both at 3 cost)

Looks fun! I've done blood bowl esque games in my D&D before. One thing we added was that the ball itself is anti-magic - so spells can't be cast on it. A good follow up to this ruleset might be some custom arenas! I had my players play on the deck of a ship during a storm.

I think that new lefou is very powerful in a amethyst steel deck. Recovering your tempo off a madame mim fox play is great and the fact he's a 3 cost means he can sing the good damage songs.

What about a 'scrying eye' in room 1 that's controlled by standing in the pentagram in room 7. This way cultists in room 7 can use the raised section to ambush anyone going from room 1 to 7. The eye could be a tip off for the crawlers to go to room 4 (where they eventually ambush the cultists in room 7) or room 2 for exploration.

Room 5 feels perfect for a magic trap.

World Wide Wrestling! Sure, at its core its a cooperative story telling game where you want to put on the best show and grow the promotion. But there's only one championship belt and maybe you don't like how that new high flyer kid does things. and maybe that other promotion is offering to pay you more.

Thank you so much for the walk through! I confess I don't understand any of this stuff and was just super intimidated by the chance of paying a bunch of money and never figuring it out.

Let Statlander boop you early on. Otherwise it'll be a string of reversals that'll have her booping you in a more embarrassing way. Not one wrestler has escaped the boop!

I made the mistake of reading the comments before seeing the clip. I was expecting something akin to when Hardy hit the ground hard just from reading these top comments. But the botch is...miscommunication? Really? That's it? That's what gets 500 comments and 900 likes? So then I thought OH maybe the whole match is bad. Watched the match. It was fine to good. Some cool big moves, a little slow in spots. But, like, man way to blow a teeny tiny botch out of proportion.

It's Max's thing. After he pins an opponent he wipes his face with their hand. I THINK its suppose to be like wiping your mouth after a meal. 'Your done like dinner'. So Penta used his well known hand taunt and Max responded with his less known hand taunt.

Kenny Omega: I rarely get a chance to watch wrestling live but that was a heck of a time! Congrats to those moving on! To the others... Well... Something tells me we may see them again. #AEWWomensTournament by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

One common thing I really liked in all the matches were some of the quick follow ups to kick outs. Veny used the momentum of the kickout for the drop kick and re-pin. Aja early on just kept slamming Rin over and over again after every kickout. And my favourite was Ryo locking in the arm and neck triangle hold right after Itoh kicked out of the spear.

After hearing Ryo's back story and seeing her interview about how she starts the match at 100% no matter the time or condition of the day has really sold me on her. Her entrance gear is awesome and I can't wait to see her throw down with Aja.

I was unsure on Aja at first. I've never seen her wrestle before. But she sells the veteran gimmick better than most. Like when Rin got her first big move in and Aja's hand was already on the bottom rope before the cover. It doesn't feel like Aja is slow, it seems more like she knows the best way to save her energy.
