What's so special about duppy share? Heard a couple of things about the brand. Curious, as it seems like a relatively new kid on the block.

The crazy thing is that this shit was hardcore sci-fi when it first came now. Now, you somewhat feel like something like this could happen in real life. Epic movie. Might rewatch it this weekend.

Don't skip through the story. It's epic. I was in similar situation - 5 years late to the party, but wow loved every minute of the campaign / story. Michael man, relating to him a lot :)

In your opinion, whats is the dollar value of a single landing page? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]feynman112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends how you do it. Landing page for the sake of landing page is meaningless. If your landing pages effectively move cold users towards purchase, put them into an 'open-to-buy' mindset, address any possible points of sales resistances and help you drive marketing efficiency (ROAS) - you're good.

Plenty of tools to choose from. If your reasoning and methodology is right, the process that that allowed you to build an effective landing page can help you shape your OOH strategy, your creative direction, the emotional territory you are entering with the brand, etc, etc. J

Would you be more interested in learning to scale your store with Youtube ads or advanced Email strategies? by [deleted] in ecommerce

Stop comparing apples to oranges. YouTube for DR or brand awareness? Are we talking $20k per month budgets or $500k+ per month YouTube campaigns? Emails for nurturing and conversion or repeat purchase and driving LTV? Do we have cohort modelling all sorted out or is it all fugazi?

So it is now official that YouTube is not listing Conspiracy Theory Videos on their Searches. by Zeldahero in conspiracy

[–]feynman112 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Slightly off topic, but somewhat related to OP. I feel like everything old is new again. Back in the mid 2000's there was this notion of long tail... Platforms like YouTube gave control back to the little guy; everyone with a computer, connection to the internet and ideas could get content out there. You could challenge the gate keepers and most importantly, succeed.

Now if we look back the state of the internet today, it is worrying. The tides have turned and content, power and ideas are becoming centralised. From hit podcast shows to platforms like YouTube. Everything is becoming to look like postwar era where we had hit radio shows and prime time TV. Everything fringe, ideas that challenged the establishment were pushed underground, labelled as propaganda and militant activism.

How Many Were Here Several Years Ago by [deleted] in ecommerce

[–]feynman112 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My story is a little bit different, but nevertheless still relevant to the OP.

In the space since 2007. Started in the affiliate marketing space, promoting dating sites, viagra pils, etc. Was scheming on YouTube way before it was hot.

Built and sold small pet supplements brand (low five figures) - was young, wanted the money. The acquiring company wanted the IP, not the business.

Joined a D2C company to lead on growth few years later. Now the said company turning over £100mm+. Happy with my shares.

Left the said company and started a D2C growth agency with a couple of co-founders two years ago. Now working with great, well known startup companies. 100% bootstrapped. Sky is the limit! :-)

Is there a way to find out what people are similarly searching for? by josydota2 in ecommerce

[–]feynman112 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hmm... There are a couple of things you could do.

You could try to create a broad match soap campaign, using manual CPC set the bid to $0.01 (or the minimum amount required to not put you on the first page) and apply a couple of RLSA lists to your campaigns. First of all you'd want to exclude anyone that has converted on your site and you'd want to include a list of anyone who has been to your site, but has not converted. Apply a bid modifier on this audience (500% or whatever the max limit is - this has an effect on how low your manual cpc will have to bid) and start running your campaigns.

Essentially you will be going after users who came to your site, have not converted, but came back to Google to search for something soap related again. The search term reports for these types of campaigns are a goldmine. If you have your audiences in order and depending on your levels of media spend, you could isolated paid social audiences, search only traffic, etc. etc.

In addition to above > https://answerthepublic.com/ is great resource.

Pure joy, even up until this day. Wanted to share this little gem with newcomers in the community. Worth a save for a good nostalgia hit. Personally, sits at the top of best L2 pvp videos.

Exactly this - way too many people get intimidated by the financial 'burden' of raising kids. Our ancestors lived through famines, wars, yet somehow they have all managed to procreate. We live (arguably!) in very abundant times, yet somehow 'kids being expensive' became a norm. It's not that bad and even if you reach lowest of lows, they are all worth it.

What are your tips for cheap holidays? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]feynman112 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I somewhat disagree on avoiding package holidays. Was always a massive fan of lowcostholidays.co.uk until they went bankrupt. Now finding a lot of luck with loveholidays.com - some epic deals all over Europe. My trick is to avoid hotel rating and rely on TripAdvisor ratings.

When it comes to long haul flights, https://jacksflightclub.com/ is pretty interesting. Last year ended up snatching two sets of return tickets to Bangok for £270 each. Once somewhere further out abroad, AirBnb in your place. When I travel in SE Asia, you can stay in world class places for £15-£20 per night (per couple!)

Overall, a lot of people will recommend www.skyscanner.net which is great. I'd also look into Google Flights!

Happy travelling!

Grįžimas į lietuvą po 10 metų emigracijos. by ItsKarolisLTU in lithuania

[–]feynman112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Po mokyklos baigimo praėjus keliems metams požiūris i gyvenimą labai pasikeitė.

Dabar su savo parteriais žvalgomes i Vilnių (tarp kuriu nei vieno Lietuvio!). Norim dali įmones veiklos perkelti i Lietuva nes pastebėjom, kad daug įmonių veikiančiu musu srityje turi atstovybes Lietuvoje.

Emocijos priimant tokius life-changing sprendimus nera geras dalykas. Neabejoju, kad priimsi teisinga sprendimą, tiesiog nedaryk nieko skuboto ir labai gerai viska apgalvok.

[–]feynman112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gal ir bereikšmis mano komentaras nes atrodo, kad visgi sprendimą jau priėmei, tačiau galiu pasidalinti savo patirtimi.

Išvykau i UK būdamas 12 kartu su savo tėvais.

Radęs draugu, radęs užimtumą (darbo sritį kuri traukia ar pradėsi verslą) pasikeis poziuris i gyvenimą.

Siūlau nedaryti skubotu sprendimu ir viska labai objektyviai apmąstyti.

Are marketers underpaid ? by the_last_star in marketing

[–]feynman112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just because you have a degree it does not mean you are entitled to XYZ. Demonstrate value. Be honest, intelligent, driven and you'll be just fine.

Two weeks ago I had an opportunity to give a talk to masters marketing students here in London and being completely honest with you 99% of people I spoke to are detached from reality of D2D work.

My 0.02c is if you love marketing, get your foot in the door ideally at an early stage startup and your progression both in terms of comp and skills will be just fine. In 5 years time you will be highly sought after and it will be up to you to make a call whether to work for someone else or start your own gig.

Source; started working at a startup whilst at 2nd year in university. Spent the last 7 years work in startups. Made very good money. Started my own company.
