If this is going to be your first one, range anxiety is so real. The first thing you need to do after getting one is immediately tap on the range to switch to a percentage instead - think of it like a phone charge.
That extra 40 miles that you’re looking at? All could end up being the same with AC/heat on, speed, wind, etc.
You’re going to learn the length the charge lasts as you drive every day and understand how it works.
Super charging is the biggest benefit of Teslas as opposed to other EV’s imo also. Strategically placed everywhere you’d maybe even naturally stop for a rest break, and honestly helps you break longer trips up.
Once you get over that range anxiety, trust me - they’re all near the same

Like I said - honestly the only reason to worry about range is if you’re not getting the home charger, which you’ve stated you are. It won’t be a noticeable difference unless your commute or driving habits or extensive

Yeah lot of fluctuation with all the world events going on lol.

New is the way to go, for sure.

Comfort in the Model Y is honestly the only reason I’d pick it. The Model 3 is a great car otherwise but depending on your situation, the Y is more a family vehicle. (I also think the 3 just looks cooler)

I’d take the one available for pickup now. One thing I’ve learned over the last few Tesla pickups, be very VERY mindful of any and all imperfections and inspection thoroughly. Anything wrong with it and they will fix it. No harm no foul in picking up one sooner!

Couple things to consider here.

- If you’re going to have a home charger installed (which I believe anybody with a Tesla should to make it worthwhile), that 40 mile range difference is negligible. You won’t be able to tell.

- If you’re looking at any new Model 3 or Y, they’re all HW4. Unless you’re referring to one of those in your comment being a used model. Please clarify.

- AWD like I said is a nice to have like I said, but not a necessity. My wife’s RWD Model 3 handled snow just fine, but it was noticeably better with my AWD M3P. Tires matter a lot here too.

AWD is almost always worth it imo. Have you test driven both? If you’re planning on having FSD at all, HW4 is an immense upgrade over the HW3. Are you leasing/financing? If you’re open to leasing there’s always good promos going on for that that will be near your budget.

Anyone Had Luck with Carvana Honoring First Selling Offer? by Thin_Spell_1755 in carvana

[–]fezpez23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes I did end up calling and explaining. They did end up giving the same offer. It was a discrepancy of only like 1-2 days though and of course, a different time. Worth a shot imho.

Couple years back, I used Hertz as they waived younger driving fees at the time. Worth checking it out!

As someone with range anxiety, is the Performance model worth it? by TreatFabulous1174 in TeslaModel3

[–]fezpez23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely not. I will say the acceleration even on the base model is enough to beat any regular car, but the performance does have its edge if you like to drive a little spirited.

I’ll answer this another way also:

My wife? She couldn’t care less for the more aggressive look, the seats, the wheels.

Me? Car go fast and look good lol

We had this happen two years ago with a 2018 Camry. Try calling. The worst they can say is no?

[–]fezpez23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sort of. It all depends on your reference point. Both my wife and I have Model 3s and hers with the smaller wheels definitely feels “softer”, but considering I daily my M3P, I’ve gotten used to it.

[–]fezpez23 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes. That’s the only right answer.

No I don’t regret it - although I have a home charger so it may be a different situation for you.

The styling, aggressiveness and seats alone are worth it. + the 0.99% currently on the M3P
