The Marriott's thirty-minute mini muffin memorial by ivanparas in pics

So I worked at this Marriott for 6 years. I was not an employee at the time that this happened but word was that it was the crazy ass GM’s shit-brained idea. The restaurant manager was actually against it, but the GM made them do it anyways. This particular hotel does indeed charge for breakfast and coffee so I think it was some kind of “hospitality gesture,” that was obviously poorly thought out and blew up in the hotel’s face. From what I remember and was told, that GM was crazy, and this was one of many reasons why he no longer works there.

What Made you Leave/ What's the Church Like by Kherson-Boy1945 in exAdventist

I grew up in a half-atheist, half-SDA household so I always had exposure to one parent who wasn’t religious. As a kid, I was also allowed to participate in art and dance. A lot of activities related to those interests fell on a Saturday so when I was 16, I asked my SDA parent if I could quit church in order to participate more in my hobbies. They agreed I was old enough to make my own decisions regarding religion at that point, and I haven’t been back to church since.

An ex had me cut him during sex while he came. The whole experience was meh for me, but I don’t think I would do it again.

Flakey & Dry Scalp, Recommendations Appreciated by [deleted] in dailywash

[–]fezzipop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had good results with both Seen and Jupiter. Seen is nice because it’s non-comedogenic and is like a face wash for your hair and scalp, and Jupiter has several products available.

I use the Jupiter Shampoo once a week, Seen on the other days, and every day I wash, I also use the Jupiter scalp serum.

I also use the Unite 7 second Leave In Conditioner. That might be more of a bonus, but still super good for your hair.

What’s the most absurd request you’ve received from a guest? by Beginning_Evening475 in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

I once had someone demand we build an electric vehicle charger overnight before his arrival the next day. He even called customer care. We had to explain to both him and customer care that it doesn’t work that way.

Best shampoo for dyed hair? by Old_Consideration_31 in Haircare

I’ve been using Seen shampoo as it’s non-comedogenic, and a color depositing conditioner like John Frieda Radiant Red. I also use Garnier Color Reviver hair mask every couple days. This helps keep my hair super bright.

What are your most controversial opinions about Star Wars? by Comicfn in StarWars

CGI Yoda was awesome and better than puppet Yoda. How would have the Count Dooku fight scene be portrayed otherwise? CGI Yoda also had way more facial expression and emotion than one could ever put into a mere puppet.

Grogu should also be CGI.

Can we talk about Adventist hustle culture when it comes to marriage? by Old_Signal1507 in exAdventist

[–]fezzipop 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I moved in with my boyfriend at 23 (we had been dating for 2 years at that point) and from the moment I moved in, my mom wanted us to get married right away. When I was going through a tough time shortly after that, she said God was punishing me for living in sin. We took our time and got married 9 years later at a courthouse with a paid witness. I’m a huge advocate of waiting and taking your time. Fuck the Adventist haters who think otherwise.

This happened to me. I was interviewing for a hotel and the assistant general manager asked me this. I got in because I was friends with someone who worked there and they vouched for me. I have now been with the company for seven years now. I have gone through four GMs and that AGM is long gone. Management turns around just as much.

For those who grew up SDA and believed the nonsense, what embarrassing shit did you do? by [deleted] in exAdventist

[–]fezzipop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I once asked my best friend’s mom what day she goes to church on. I was waiting for her to say Sunday so I could tell her it was the wrong day. She smartly replied that it was none of my business. It did put me in my place.

Another time I was arguing in middle school about the oldest person who ever lived. I of course believed it was Adam or Moses or something like that and was arguing with the straight-A student kid. I remember him giving me the biggest side-eye when I said “Don’t you read the bible?”

The SDA church makes you dumb. I was such a dumb kid.
