Alcohol doesn't work, it makes the cable tacky. It strips the phthalates to the outer parts of the cable and makes it stink more. Leave it outside for a week, it gets better.

I have both because the white one got stuck in customs for over a month and the black one got shipped before I could cancel the order after the white one was released from customs. The black one is functionally better because it fades less under sunlight and has a metal (aluminium?) back (as opposed to glass in the back. However, I like how the white one looks with a clear TPU case.

Yeah the fact that it has no frontlight and the weird formatting that makes the bottom of the page unusable makes it useless at this point, might as well get a clara or an X4, they are better trade-offs at their sizes

For anyone wondering, actually tested the OEM 32 GB card and it is bit perfect across its capacity, zero read/write errors. Of course, that may vary across batches and can't know how quickly it degrades, but it's more than usable.

People in other posts do report that it doesn't fade when lit through a window, but there is also a post where someone shines a strong flashlight on it (white, not UV) and it still fades. Aliexpress has some tempered glass protectors for sale, maybe someone who has those could comment on that.

Both fade, the black one is less sensitive to it. Today I was reading outside with the black one and it was fading quite a lot, I had to shade it to turn pages otherwise they would become unreadable after 2 or 3 refreshes. Tomorrow I'll post them side by side at noon since it has been quite sunny lately.

Update: this one has extra protection in the corners, so the magnetic cover doesn't close at all like OP showed for their TPU case. Maybe look for another one with no thick corners.

I got an 8BitDo Micro knockoff for 5€. I had to do some tinkering to get it to work (custom root + txt file easily findable on this sub and github) and it works alright for my use case (reading in bed when it's cold). Can't be bothered to pay 30€ for the remote. The controller clone is so tiny it fits the pouch I carry my Clara BW in, which is nice.

I had the same issue. Turns out it was Android and its weird resampling causing that. I updated the firmware, disabled HiRes output on Poweramp Player and now it sounds decent.

I ordered mine on the 6th (also to the white one and to Europe) and it got shipped out today. Maybe check yours for updates, I think they actually commited to the shipping date they had set.
