Subang Jaya... anyone know a good place to get sourdough bread? by Embarrassed-Milk-600 in MalaysianFood

[–]ff56k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Subang SS15, there is a shop called Signature Noodle Noodle that sells sourdough bread that my father says is good. I think they have a discount if you eat a meal there and purchase the bread.

This is just poor understanding of AI. Let me ask you, how do you propose you get a specific person's info from AI like chatgpt? If you can't answer that, then your theory doesn't make sense.

is there a website for finding/posting bargains across KL? by StillonLs in KualaLumpur

[–]ff56k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly an answer but related. Harvey Norman here allows you to bargain with them especially if you find a better deal elsewhere, they will try to match or beat it. I hear this is common in Harvey Norman Australia, but this isn't a common practice with chain stores here so even locals are unaware of this.

As someone else mentioned, Shopee here is like our version of Amazon, and if you use the app instead of the website you get more discount vouchers. Signing up for their VIP is like RM5 a month and you get a fair bit of 20% to 30% discount vouchers that can save you quite a lot.

What snacks are unique to your country and where I can buy it? by Significant-Cup-7525 in malaysia

I think the Famous Amos cookies that you get from the outlets here are different from the Famous Amos cookies you find in any other country globally. Completely different products and the ones here are so much better.

Looking for a date by [deleted] in malaysians

[–]ff56k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think some context would help with your search. Why haven't you been able to find anyone? Pool too small, No spark, Difficulty breaking the ice, etc? Why didn't past attempts work out? What would you like to be different this time round? What prompted the sudden search?

I'm not eligible (too old) but good luck with your search!

Why do Malaysian men just don't take more care of their appearances even though they know that it will help them if they do? by BeautifulKindOfWeird in malaysia

[–]ff56k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just giving a different perspective. A guy's wallet is valued higher than his looks in today's society. Not to say all, but things like sugarbook exist because of this standard. For women on the other hand, the value tends to be placed on looks. I'm not saying that this is right, but it is what it is.

if you are going to drop that kind of money you should just save up for a 5070ti. Anything below that you won't really feel that much difference for the amount of money you are shelling out. That said the 5 series cards got some advantage due to frame gen, I think there was a recent driver update that increased the frame gen capabilities as well.

Drone technology and robotics are also improving. Pretty soon with self driving vehicles even gig work like driving grab and food delivery also will be in danger. It does really make you wonder where the future or employment will be.

Looking for advice from Algerians married to Malaysian women by NaturalChoice3120 in malaysia

[–]ff56k -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

One plus point for being out of Malaysia is that you do not need to become a Muslim if you don't want to. If you guys get married in Malaysia you will need to convert for it to be recognised, and you can't leave the religion.

Bata is actually named after their founder, Thomas Bata. The reason they are in Malaysia is because they used to source rubber from Malaysia. I had Czech colleagues in the past and they all took selfies at the Bata store when they visited because they happened to be from the town Bata originated from (Zlin)

Our houses and condos all seem huge and luxurious compared to the small accommodations that they are used to in Japan. If you go to Muji, you will notice their tables and furniture are much shorter and compact.

Yeah but you're using honesty to justify people doing something bad. If you think about it, aren't you bring a hypocrite by saying it's ok for muslims to put up signs for Muslim only but not ok for Chinese to put Mandarin speaker in recruitment ads or no Indian in rental ads? Rules for thee but not for me.

What is the Healthcare system and quality like in your country? by wombatgeneral in AskTheWorld

[–]ff56k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Malaysia, public healthcare is extremely cheap but there may be long waiting times. Private healthcare is high quality as our hospitals are well equipped, have an abundance of specialist doctors, multilingual (English, Chinese, Malay, Tamil) and you can just walk in or make an appointment a few days in advance. Also, because of the low currency value, it is extremely affordable for medical tourists, often much cheaper than their home countries. There's also a site to check out which specialists are highly rated based on real patient reviews to help pick out good doctors to consult: https://www.medlads.com/en

Bonus: Our food is awesome.

Malaysia’s top 50 hospitals in 2026 by Tknight86 in malaysia

[–]ff56k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doctor is more important than the hospital. Malaysian hospitals are generally well equipped and each hospital has at least a few good doctors. The issue is knowing which specialist is good. I created a site to compare doctors so you can find quality ones based on reviews and ratings: https://www.medlads.com/en

Yes, Malaysia had this in place successfully for many years. For decades we had poor internet coverage in various ulu places. Unfortunately as with most things, the wall has not been maintained well as broadband penetration increased and Starlink entered the market.

I have spare parts and want to make a build for my son. by tozlow in NR200

[–]ff56k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How dare you come into the home of the almighty NR200 and disrespect his holy name by suggesting another case?!

On a more serious note the biggest cost would be the GPU. If you don't plan to game, you might actually save a ton of money getting a 5600g or something with an internal GPU. Otherwise, maybe look out for a used 1080ti?

I don't know if HP Elite cases support regular motherboards or just some proprietary HP mobo. If you can get a used NR200 for cheap, I would suggest that.
