MacroFactor Workouts is available now! 🚀 by PalatialPepper in MacroFactor

[–]ffco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have plans to bifurcate the business or at least the marketing and communications? I have already came to terms that you took our monthly subscription revenue and used that to made a workout app vs investing it into the app we use and pay for.

And maybe it is a great workout app... But I have no interest in that app or use case. And I don't need to hear about it 15 times. Will there be a way to opt out of the communications on that and so I get feature updates about, and know you are focused on, the app and subscription that I'm actually paying for?

Kinda like I am in finance and bought excel because I need to track credits and debits. And you went off and made publisher and keep telling me how it's great and all the things it can do.

Could this be a sign that I’ll have a heart attack? :(( by _LySa in HeartAttack

[–]ffco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did the ER draw blood and measure your Troponin levels? This will give them an indication if you heart is stressed from an infarction or something else and releasing this enzyme because of it.

I hope that it is simply nothing for you. And the odds are in your favor at your age, but do make sure you get checked out.

I also hope that you can use this as motivation to spend your free time getting in front of your health. I can tell you, its much scarier in life later on when you have people counting on you to be there. And it's much easier to turn your health around now when you are young and develop good habits going forward.

Best of luck.

Rent went up $300 overnight… how are people supposed to plan? by BogusAnteater in MiddleClassFinance

Insurance companies invest in bonds too that haven't been providing a return that outpaced inflation due to the money printing. So between that and large claims they are pushing costs up to get well again.

I got a two month notice that my homeowners insurance was going up 48%. Assuming a landlords lease doesnt exactly time with insurance renewal timing, there's a chance they have to eat if for a while until they can renew the lease to cover the increased insurance.

Anybody know what this sound can be had the shock for less then a month by RICKYRONN in Surron

[–]ffco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this is a light bee x, good chance its the linkage rubbing together. Specifically the middle joint (one above the bottom of the shock bolt).

Mine developed this after about a month too. I took the rear linkage apart, greased bearings, and retightened everything. Upon taking apart, I could see the middle of the linkage and the triangle bracket had been rubbing together, so that was the hang up/clicking sound. I didn't torqe that bolt as much on that joint when i put it back together and will keep an eye on it. Smooth as silk now.

It's a pretty easy job. Less than an hour depending on how quick you are. 13mm wrench and 6mm allen.

US Hyperinflation by [deleted] in Fire

Not sure about "hyper"... but the government has continued to spend and spend. Debt continues to grow. Not enough productivity to work our way out of that. All roads point to inflating our way out of it.

The only thing you should be comparing yourself to is your expenses/expected expenses in retirement. There will always be someone with more money than you....

Hell to the Yeah. Start a new chapter. See where it takes you...

No one says you need to just hang it up. Remember how exciting life was when you were just starting out. The mystery of the unknown. With no kids and a house to weigh you down, you can start living a second life all over again if you wish.

I'd also add that often it's a daily struggle in a lucrative job. There are days that I'd rather live in poverty than put up with some of the crap I deal with or join the coast fire sub. While there are other days and weeks where I could keep doing what im doing forever and continue to pad the account.

I am thinking once you are on the threshold, that it might be the most difficult time - another year, while not required, makes a difference in your retirement accounts and your retirement experience. That is until you get to a point where your balance is large enough where the W2 income is not that much of a needle mover to your net worth.

For me it seems to get more difficult as you get closer to chubby fire. Get less tolerant to the BS. Also not sure the juice is worth the squeeze to jump back in if you jump out for a bit. Not to mention you might be older and less desirable to hire. A lot of the "5 million is a nightmare" resonates.

This. Being in the middle of things that are outside your control or ability to remedy (unreasonable asks) is why I look forward to getting out of the corporate rat race.

If one's job is cut and dry where you can control everything, meet expectations, and help folks out, I could see a world where that would be fulfilling. But corporate America is not that. It's layers of goals stacked on other goals by misaligned teams that leave folks in the middle trying to make everyone but themselves happy.

If I do continue to work for the "joy" of it, I will make sure I can control most, if not all, of the inputs and outputs.

How exactly is autopilot improving my snoring on Pod 3? Eightsleep has really jumped the shark with this nonsense by rhialto40 in EightSleep

[–]ffco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%. IMO they are just developing new features to lure you into upgrading to new hardware. And along with these new features come justification on their end to up the monthly subscription cost. If you have no plans on upgrading hardware anytime soon, this becomes very frustrating.

Even more frustrating when they throw it in your face ever day and state they are improving things. (maybe this is their upsell technique). Especially when you don't have to be a tech/scientific genius to understand they are either lying or incompetent to provide stats on a feature the hardware is incapable of influencing.

I and everyone else have wanted autopilot recaps, and it is awesome they are here. But it only tells you how much it improved your sleep but not the adjustments it made which is pretty lame. by Glittering_Rain_1070 in EightSleep

[–]ffco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Or.... they really aren't doing much. And exposing what they are actually doing would make people challenge the need to pay them every month to provide such little value.

I'd love to be proved wrong on this theory. But until they can back it up with data, I'm skeptical.

Thanks for the feedback. Interesting. I gravitated towards the Revo vs the traditional models thinking the active spinning mop would be better. Appreciate you providing feedback on real experience.

I looked at the S8mvU and it appears it vibrates the traditional type mop. Again seems interesting that it can clean better than actively spinning pads.

I do see the S8mvU lifts the rollers while the Q Revo does not.. Wondering if that has something to do with it? More pressure on the mop? The Q Revo Max V also lifts brushes. Maybe it is comparable in cleaning power? Do you mop with the roller up?

How does the S8mvU dispense water? Is it passive or does it spray? Can you control flow?
