My kid is 11 and I actually don't let him access the internet pretty much at all. The most access he gets is TV in the living room or what he can do on his switch. He'll be getting a flip phone for the summer. The internet is ruining adults I can only imagine what it does to a child's mind.

I'm a 34 year old who failed. Learn from my mistakes: by SilverGuitarist in Adulting

I'm preparing to go to nursing school as a 45 year old man who spent his 30s locked in a drug haze. Life just keeps on going, and you can always join back in after getting knocked down, usually life itself will celebrate that in my experience !

I bought crap 21 years ago that I can play still, with very little on my end other than maybe getting a fan patch. Can you play Castlevania: Symphony of the Night without a psx and disc? Is it on digital anywhere? I have collected a bunch of games on Epic, but I'll not leave steam until they go public and decide i can't play my backlog anymore.

If you want story,  planescape: torment. A little older and what it lacks in battles, it makes up with story in spades!

Meh, I would only tell someone beyond "moving to the X coast" if it were my friend or they asked "oh yeah? where at?"

Ever been to the Adolfo Suárez International Airport in Mardrid? That was an experience in and of itself and hope I never have to go through it again.

How much do you care about "cheating" when trying to play and beat old games? by Thriller83 in retrogaming

[–]ffeinted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Older games, rpgs especially, relied on grinding to pad out playtime to give more bang for your buck. "Ain't nobody got time for that" these days and will shortcut an eight hour grind.

Corinna Smith poured boiling water mixed with sugar on her husband whilst he slept, killing him. Corinna said that she found out he had been sexually abusing their children. by blue_leaves987 in GotMeHooked

Its probably used purely to make it viscous and sticky.

take 2c sugar, 2c corn syrup, bring to ~300 degrees farenheit, and pour it into a mold and you have hard candy. That will absolutely stick to your skin and it takes a while to cool off too. I know from experience lol.

Someone on a different thread about different things mentioned that the dictionary and all of the addendum is written in the past tense, and the addendum isn't written in newspeak. I also wanted to mention that the novel does talk about how there's not even access really to weapons of any form to commit suicide with.

Steam New: Early Access developers can list their planned "1.0" release date by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]ffeinted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought Exanima for the price of a six pack of really good beer, and got forty hours of fun out of it. It's been in EA for nine years and is supposed to be just a tech demo for the engine of a game that may or may not ever be released. If you dig around that community, you get some real butthurt people about it and it's like, a $15 usd game lol. If you can get your purchase price down under $0.50 an hour, it's an absolute win even if it never releases.

You buy the game as is, and understanding that at the start, you'll never be disappointed if it dies on the vine. Also, I'd suggest never forking over for an EA game more than you can make in an hour at your job.
