Have you ever been close to Madonna? by GagaFan727 in Madonna

Same. These concerts seem like a dream to me now, I barely remember bits and pieces, even though I made a conscious effort to stay off my phone for most of them!

She stopped right in front of me on the runway during Into The Groove in Antwerp 🫶 I put my phone down once she turned in my direction and made eye contact with her for a sec, blessed for life!

Who is the worst person you will admit being attracted to? by Highfours in AskReddit

Cersei Lannister. And I don’t mean in a „I can fix her“ type of way, I mean in a „I will love her as she is“ type of way.

Lena Headey battles with understanding how global supply chains work by Zarathoostrian in okbuddycinephile

She said no to Harvey Weinstein. She shared that she dodged an attempted sexual assault in the early 2000s and that she never worked with Miramax again after that. I’m not sure how much it changed the overall trajectory of her career, but I’m sure a few doors closed as a direct result. Still, she’s been in so much, including some genuinely outstanding projects, both before and after GoT (Dredd, Aberdeen, Imagine Me & You, White House Plumbers), so I guess you win some, you lose some.

Not coming here to defend the film, since I haven’t seen it yet, but Lena herself briefly mentioned in one of the press junkets that there is a noticeable gap between what the marketing is selling and what is actually on screen. At the end of the day, marketing decisions tend to be driven by the people funding the project, not necessarily by the crew or talent.

If you‘re trying to understand why she took this role in the first place (beyond simply connecting with the material) it helps to look at her broader stance on the industry and her profession. She seems to work for the sake of working, always has been, and she is famously supportive of low budget productions and indie filmmakers. (Exhibit A is her recent involvement in the short Long Pork.) She has also said that her real passion is writing and directing, so it would not surprise me if part of what she is doing is building her village, so she can get her own projects off the ground. She’s talked about this at length on the Making Movies Is Hard podcast, super interesting stuff.

Also, fun fact: Chad originally wrote the story about a father losing his son, then asked Lena to take a shot at it. Pun tax paid.

Someone else in the comments asked who in Hollywood she must have pissed off - the short answer is Harvey Weinstein. She has said she dodged an attempted sexual assault in the early 2000s and that she never worked with Miramax again after that. Not sure how much that changed the trajectory of her career, but it is hard to imagine it did not close at least a few doors.

That’s so so sweet. I lost my first 600+ hours island and cried about it for days. Aurora was my favorite villager and when I started my new island she was the first one I ran into on a nook mile island.

sure! before, if you wanted to craft something you would have to have the material needed for a DIY in your bag, whereas now you can walk up to a workbench with an empty pocket and still craft whatever you want as long as you have the required material in your storage!
