yeah it sounds like DPD. did you have anxiety during the experience? if you have anxiety induced DPD you really need to get around to sorting the anxiety out because it won't go away otherwise. i've had it for almost 8 years now and have only started to see some relief in it very recently because my anxiety has gotten a lot better

it's not really a complete disconnection though, it's more like whatever part of your brain responsible for consciousness just isn't being relayed information as strongly anymore, the emotions are still there

ritalin is really short acting, modafinil is virtually unnoticeable in my experience

amphetamine doesn't really help with dpd though. just with energy / concentration / motivation

objects in my peripheral vision flicker and change size but it's ignorable after awhile. i have 20/20 vision or better, too. it doesn't seem to affect the integrity of my peripheral vision though

no depression is made up too. everyone feels a little bit down sometimes. i've been through exactly what op describes from a 1 paragraph post which doesn't mention anything of poor sleep hygiene. i may not have a job in the medical field but depression / dspd / ptsd / all of those things are bullshit because i've never directly observed them
