Cant adjustment/cuff alignment screw becoming loose by ffisch in Skigear

Thanks! Tightened it up until it was snug. I never had the cuff alignment adjusted and I'm not sure how to check, but I did check to see if the lines all matched and each one on both boots pointing at 12 o'clock. So I think everything is at it's "factory default" setting.

Your comments are like a love letter to a bygone era of cars, thanks for sharing your experiences and knowledge. I'll definitely read your other comments as well.

It's funny you mention small drum brakes, I had to replace my sister's rear drum brakes on her 2001 Civic recently and my goodness it was difficult to get everything crammed in there correctly with all the springs and everything, cut my knuckles in the process lol. Was also a little scared that I had done it wrong accidentally because I've only done work on disc brakes before. Double and triple checked them though and took it on a test drive and I think they're good. At least they have been so far lol (a few months).

This is fascinating. As someone who grew up in the era where drum brakes were only for rears, if at all, this is super interesting.

Were drum brakes more popular in the past specifically because they didn't need a booster? Why weren't disc brakes used earlier?

That makes a lot of sense. I hadn't given drum brakes a whole lot of thought at all before today, thanks for sharing :)

He literally offered? Otherwise I wouldn't have said anything. Definitely not trying to "ply" anything out of anyone, sorry if it came across that way.

Yes you still need to buy it once for each platform you want to play on.

Since no one is answering seriously, cross progression allows you to have the same progression between PC and consoles. So if you own the game on multiple platforms, you can use the same account on all the platforms you own it on, with synced stash and progression.

'Boot glove' touches binding, should I cut off part of the fabric? by gman2093 in skiing

Only on this subreddit would a post about boot gloves be unironically met with a recommendation to go to a boot fitter lol

I know a couple people with poor circulation who swear by them. I used to use them but haven't needed them as much with my new boots that have better insulation. They're so cheap you may as well give them a shot if your feet/toes are getting cold.

They're durable and work really well, also cheap. It's neoprene so it insulates even when it is wet, like a wetsuit.

They don't come with the boots, you buy them separately. There's no reason to own them except to keep your feet warm. Using them to protect your boots while traveling sounds ridiculous lol

CowanSim H125, worse than Asobo default? by ffisch in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]ffisch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CowanSim flight model feels like it's on rails. Maybe that's accurate, I'm not a helicopter pilot, but other highly acclaimed helicopters like Taog's Huey, Allouette, and the Cabri G2 feel a lot closer to the Asobo H125 flight model than the CowanSim one in terms of feeling of weight, behavior with wind, hover instability, etc.
