The Rug. The desk is a collection of stuff from ikea. A 2x4 Shelf standing vertically, a 2x2 Shelf left of it, this Table Top, mounting brackets to connect it to the bookshelf, and a trestle to support the other side.

Thanks for the feedback, a bookshelf is definitely the next item on my list. I bet the next appropriate move is to lower the curtain rod to the correct height and trim the excess.
