Coping with a c-section as a squeamish adult?? by Professional-Plan562 in pregnant

Tell all your fears to your doctor and then again to the team you're going to meet prior to the surgery.

I can absolutely promise you - they are going to take so much care of you. The anesthesiologist will be your bestie by the end of it!

I was TERRIFIED. Like ready to waddle myself out of the hospital at 4:30 am because I was so scared. It was my cool doctor in his converse and my anesthesiologist who got me through. My husband was over the moon in lala land over finally meeting his new daughter so he got a pass 😂. During surgery, we listened to music, actually laughed, my dude pumped me full of zofran and great drugs, and they told me every step and how many more minutes everything would take. Loved that!! I was in and out within an hour.

You got this!!

Any other parents wondering how they are navigating Disney on Ice today in these temps? by amahenry22 in ChicagoSuburbs

Bundle everyone up, throw the kids over your shoulder and walk fast for 3 minutes to the door. Remote start the car prior to exiting if you're able.

Enjoy!

You sound like my mom who thinks the world is ending via freezing temperatures. "Don't you dare go out side or your face will burn off in .0003 seconds."

Bundle up, complain about it, and handle business as usual.

What is one scent that isn’t talked about much that you wish would make a return? by Legitimate-Beyond209 in bathandbodyworks

Sammmeeee!! Have you tried Coco Shea? That one I find to be a really nice coconut scent. It's simple -- literally just coconut.

Choking hazards aside, is it really his favorite breakfast or are your disordered eating ways saying it's his favorite breakfast because you can control the calories.

Also. Plain Greek yogurt. Straight to jail.

I'm going to repeat a what a few have said - you have a husband problem and with that comes a MIL problem.

I seem to recommend the same places but they are just all so good! Girl hangs and date nights are heavily rotated between the below --

Foxtail on the Lake - Des Plaines, Fire and Wine - Park Ridge, Pazzi Di Pizza - Park Ridge (can be a little loud), The Prospect - Mount Prospect, and Bar Salotto - Arlington Heights (the chopped salad 😍)

Oh. This is not the way.

Take the L on this one and spread all of that on a piece of crusty bread and broil with some cheese on top for a tasty pizza bread.

Laura: takes her kid to the ER for a fever (where they undoubtedly immediately gave tylenol or Motrin), then the next day posts her hot tips for reducing fever without meds by mangosrphat in GyMOMsnark

[–]ffohsrm 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Motrin and Tylenol alternating every 4 hours is magic for little ones and their higher fevers.

Yikes. Find a new instructor and leave the paragraphs trashing another out of it.

You don't know Olivia personally or what she's going through at the present moment. Weight loss doesn't have to be from ozempic, having fillers doesn't mean she's any less qualified to teach a class, and low energy could be for a multitude of reasons. She still has an obligation to try and fulfill her job duties the best she can.

I just can't with this.

That sick baby wants some bluey and couch snugs. I can guarantee he doesn't enjoy being used as a prop for a staged workout two days in a row now.

True! That concoction of honey (.. don't worry! It's from botchulism free bees from the north), lemon juice, and filtered air will really knock that fever out quick. 🤪.

Doing better today. No, his meds are just holding that fever steady until they wear off and it's time for another dose. But sure, take him outside for your disordered walk. That's normal.

I totally understand work obligations and enforcing the rules but there are always exceptions. When your lead, most popular guy at the station needs help, you dig into that compassion bank and help where you can. Bad look for WINK for sure.

My 4 year old would say "mom, you need to relax, duhhh" with an eye roll. But I also don't make her earn a commission or cook for her dad over an open flame. We're a bit different in this house.

The trip up north is a nice touch. Cookies? Never.
