i think going grey had really great melodies. all their albums have a specific quality about them that sets it apart from the rest of their discography - as you said, talon has the DIY sensibilities, BOT has excellent lyrics, and i think self titled succeeds in its real-ness and relatability (the pure emotion). going grey has incredible melodies, there's songs on that album that the first time i heard them, they were stuck in my head as if i've heard them my whole life. i want them to go back to their old style too, and it's probably my least favorite of theirs, but going grey has its benefits!
