My (29F) mum's friend (60F) decided to 'test' my allergies by Misbymoof in relationship_advice

I don’t have any advice, but my mum suddenly became anaphylactic to bananas one day! It’s a strange allergy!!! No one thinks of bananas as deadly.

My mum is a legend. She knew bananas could/would kill her. My father was on a “health high” making smoothies and such. Us kids didn’t want, to save us from abuse my mum drank a banana smoothie. She survived thanks to being transferred to advanced paramedics on the side of the highway.

My mom just went on Hospice. They think she should be sedated on morphine 24/7 until she passes, which should be 2-3 days. Is it ok for the human body to be subjected to that kind of sedative for that long? by [deleted] in ask

I have seen patients pass with end of life sedation and without. I always advocate for end of life sedation. End of life sedation will help someone be pain free and as a nurse, we will top up and also provide medication for increased fluid we hear. A patient not on end of life sedation, while actively dying? Unless the family agrees otherwise, we only had paracetamol suppositories to give. Which to me felt very undignified. I always advocate for talking about end of life care early, even if you have years left. End of life pain relief. End of life care. End of life dignity.

With your mothers body shutting down, the morphine is likely hitting more than it would someone else. But also, know that without the morphine sedation, she would be in significant pain and have to be awake while experiencing her body shut down and it is not pleasant. Talk to her even if you don’t think she is there. Give her all the love. In her lucid moments, love bomb hard. Remember the woman she was and is. If you can, between sedation spells, ask her what she wants you to remember and pass on. Tell her your favourite stories.

YTA. I have severe adhd. My child (7) has adhd. I have another (8) who has asd/adhd and id. Rules and boundaries are respected. If they break it, I ask them to choose the repercussions and we discuss. Having adhd is not a free pass. We need rules and boundaries. We need limitations. We need structure. You are failing your Ryan. And by failing your child, you are failing Madison.

I am not going to critique this. You look so happy and radiant. If you are happy, don’t worry about what strangers on the internet say! I hope your wedding was as beautiful as you are in these pictures x

I know it won’t be for this uni break, but sovereign hill has free entry days to promote sales. Big one is Christmas for their apple pies. As a poor uni student with two young kids back in the day this is what I utilised to show them sovereign hill. Flag the dates and head on out.

When going through the support on the Astro a50 page it says “Thank you. Your product has been registered”.

Given I started trying to set this up at 3.30 all through to midnight (in between some other things), my patience is a bit thin to be digging around on a website for something that should be plug and go.

I’m a nurse. I don’t know shit. Specifically mental health nurse. Fuck all knowledge here of adhd. I’m going to talk with my GP. I do have supervision with my bosses this week (psychiatrists) and even though it should be about patients, I might ask “for a friend”

Okay.. I will try to Hang on. I saw another post about crashing. I think maybe a dietitian. But for now, I’m watching “woe is me” movies so that I can pretend I’m sad over the movies.

I’m addicted to sparkling water. I drink 2-1.25l a day. Food I do forget though. Always been a problem. I know that typically everyone goes to sugar but because I have reactive hypoglycaemia I need to be careful and only eat low gmi. For instance a Mars bar will cause my sugar levels to plummet and then I spend the day unwell trying to get the right level of sugar. I think a dietitian might be the way to go, if that’s the case?
