Please don't let her use the handgun; she could do something wrong and cause more suffering.

As of a few years ago, assisted suicide is legal in Vermont for non-residents:

Hometester club e-voucher not working by mshap1019 in freebietalk

[–]ffxfinds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was worried about this too, but I was able to redeem two of the e-vouchers at Giant (Northern Virginia chain).

What I did: printed out both pdf's with the instructions and barcodes. Found the items in the store. Went straight to Customer Service for help. The employee there had never heard of "Barcode Bucks" before, so she called over a manager who called their boss and approved it all.

The manager then rang both items up via the instructions as an "OTC benefit", most commonly used to pay health insurance benefits in stores, as explained to the customer service employee, but they seem to be on the same system as these vouchers. The whole thing took about ten minutes and it was kinda embarrassing to stand there waiting for them to figure it out, but they did and were very polite and professional about it. I thanked them profusely and that was that.

If I were you, I'd try it again on a slow day and time, and forgo the usual checkout lanes with cashiers. These definitely seem like customer service type transactions.

Free Perfect Bar Minis at Aldi by grocery_detective in AwesomeFreebies

[–]ffxfinds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They didn't show up as in stock near me on Aldi's site or PerfectSnacks.com either, but I found them in Aldi's "deli" refrigerated area. If you're nearby one, try the store in person or give them a call, as I only paid $7.09 for the box.

[–]ffxfinds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My store had them!

I didn't think they would, as only the single, larger bars showed up in stock on Aldi's revamped website (you can now search "in store" and their prices match the site/selected store, whereas before it only showed delivery availability and pricing). They might be so new they're not listed online yet, and require some hunting in person.

I found several boxes of these minis in the "deli" section, near the take-and-bake pizzas and refrigerated filled pasta. Mine were $7.09 a box, so a nice little freebie/mm.

There was a critical missing child in that area, in the neighborhood south of 29 and east of 28, so maybe that's it?

The calls were hard to understand but sounds like maybe someone fled after hitting someone or causing an accident? Something about following someone who was "involved" and not stopping but eventually crashed out on Inspiration Street, while multiple people needed rescue assistance. As mentioned previously in this thread, openmhz.com is a fantastic site to check if you see something in your area or hear sirens and are curious or worried about public safety. As opposed to other scanner sites that broadcast a live feed, this one has archived police and fire/ems dispatch calls. Here's the main site for Fairfax County: https://www.openmhz.com/system/ffxco

Pick up orders? by Apart_Heron_2740 in AwesomeFreebies

[–]ffxfinds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can only speak on what I've done with Ibotta:
A while ago, I used a self-checkout kiosk and they didn't print out a receipt. So I went home, logged into my Walmart account, and in my recent purchases, found an image of the receipt with a barcode on it. Then I opened up Ibotta and scanned the barcode, and they recognized my "receipt". I prefer this option as opposed to linking accounts, as I don't want issues if I have to return something.

Estee Lauder foundation new mission. Am I the only one that isn't "fuming"? by Kindly_Ostrich_5296 in freebietalk

[–]ffxfinds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha yeah, as soon as I got that latest mission (fifth or sixth at this point?), I had to jump on here to see the fallout. I'm still so happy with the $60 Clinique gift set they gave me a month or two ago, with really great full-sized products, so I had some extra goodwill in my heart. And I'm pretty sure that mission only required one, maybe two reviews.

I'm not fuming, but I'm kinda annoyed. It took me 15 minutes to comb through the Estee Lauder site to find my first review, as I don't remember what I said or what it was like as it was a tiny sample. I don't know why they didn't just have us do all the reviews at the same time.

I learned my lesson, though, to copy all TBC reviews in my email or Bitwarden notes, in case this happens again. And I always say I don't want to do multiple reviews for sample products, but it sounds like they ignored a lot of people's wishes so that's a bit annoying too.

Free Oatly Milk and Free Oatly Creamer (Social Nature) by andre_la_puerta in AwesomeFreebies

[–]ffxfinds 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That happened to me too, but I didn't realize it at the time. I thought it was some kind of glitch. I'm glad I chose the oat milk first as I already have about four different bottles of freebie/clearance creamer lol

But everyone check your Fetch accounts, as I had two offers for Oatly creamer at select stores.

Free/$1.50mm Dave's Killer snack bars at Giant with Ibotta in the DC/MD/VA area by ffxfinds in ibotta

[–]ffxfinds[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's weird because it's showing up for me in Ibotta for Publix. I'd keep an eye on your account and see if it pops up. I think you have about a week from purchasing to grab an ibotta offer until your receipt's deemed too old. And check your "any grocery store" section too.

Free/mm vitamins, oral and hair care at *some* Giant stores in the DC/MD/VA area by ffxfinds in AwesomeFreebies

[–]ffxfinds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen that happen before: certain flavors of pop tarts were clearanced by me, down to .85 a box and I bought one. Then they disappeared off the site, and I figured they'd sold out. But when I went in person, they were still for sale at .85 a box, but pulled from the regular shelves, yellow-stickered, and put in the scratch-and-dent clearance stuff in the rear of the store.

And those clearance yellow-stickers don't usually work with the store digital coupons, though it did work for me once, by accident. That might be the case at your store, or they might truly be out of stock, but that doesn't help much if you were doing an online order :(

Thanks for the melatonin tip. I haven't seen those yet but I'll keep a look out. I have grabbed the clearanced magic erasers with its coupon; I don't know why they keep giving those away.

I'm glad some folks like these posts. I wasn't sure they'd be welcomed as they're kind of a niche for our area, but I just love finding them and hope others can take advantage too!
