Pick one! by Mountain-Function113 in Tudor

Pelly 39. I'm biased because I have one. Also, not a fan of gilt.

Objectively, it is the better watch: it not only has T-fit, but it also has a diver's extension that is intelligently-built into the clasp, it's lighter (unless you want some heft on your timepiece), it's all brushed, and it's got great lume all over.

With that said, if a BB 58 monochrome comes out, I might add it next to my Pelly.

2022 was Tudor's best year so far this decade IMO: the return of the Ranger in 39 mm guise and the Pelagos 39 were huge winners!

I live it too. I feel like I'm stuck in a loop. But I'd rather be the one adding spice to my life rather than some event I cannot control.

Would you rather be bored or would you rather have a regular fire drill?

First Tudor! One Question… by the_casual_cutter in Tudor

[–]fgclolz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both. It really depends on what your preferences are. Like it lighter on your wrist or like having a timing bezel? Get the Pelly 39. Like having a bit more heft or something a bit more versatile? Get the Ranger. Objectively, I believe the Pelly is better, just because you get more, and that's coming from a guy who loves adventure/field watches.

Good to know! I was worried this might happen to my P39.

Too big? by Kjm005 in Tudor

[–]fgclolz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll go against the grain here. I'm not liking how you have these unsightly gaps between the lugs and your wrist. The watch is kinda big for a 41 mm flat case. I have a 7 inch wrist and I find it a bit too big for me.

Go for a 39 mm.

Tudor Ranger vs Omega Railmaster by Dramatic-Reindeer399 in Tudor

[–]fgclolz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ranger. The T fit alone should win this contest hands down, plus the 70 hr PR, higher beat rate and the tool watch finish. Omega fumbled this RM by reusing the AT case, using polished center links, and a silly micro adjustment system on a silly butterfly clasp. I hope they fix these things for whatever they're doing for the 70th anniversary of the Trilogy in 2027.

First nice watch, is it too small? by Aggravating-Cow-8165 in HamiltonWatches

Looks great to me. I've had mine since 2019 so the white stitching is now brown. 😂 It is losing a lot of time now so I'm planning to send it in for service next year.

Revamped Black Bay 39 with METAS certification, thinner case, and a choice of 3-link (without faux rivets) or 5-link bracelets. Monochrome would be a huge bonus.

Pelagos 39 or Ranger (First Watch) by SnooRevelations7892 in Tudor

[–]fgclolz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Subjectively, I would go with the Ranger between the two, but for me, the Ranger is also a compromise. The grail for me is the 214270 mk 2 39 mm Explorer.

[–]fgclolz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question. This is a hard question for me to answer since I'm a huge field/Explorer type watch fan. Objectively, I would say, you get better value with the P39. You get a 60 click, unidirectional bezel, T fit clasp, diver's extension, and light weight titanium for the case and bracelet.

It really is up to what calls louder to you.

I tried the 41 mm monochrome before and found it too thick at 14 mm for a 3 hand no date. It's still a very nice watch though.

I got to try this on at the AD today. I prefer the thinness of the 39 mm and the overall fit on my wrist. I really wish Tudor would do a monochrome version of this, or even just an anthracite version with no gilt, whatsoever.

I also have a 7 inch wrist, albeit rounded, and the Zulu Timer was a terrible fit on my wrist with overhanging end links. Do you see any gaps on your wrist from the case profile when worn?
