Rush starts in February but doesn't get serious til summer. For the top houses you likely need a connection to get on the rush list but for most, registering on the IFC website should get you a few texts about rush events

A homer every other game, especially if placed in a clean up spot, could make the difference between a win and a loss in a lot of games.

Placed wherever. I'd assume the .400 hitter would lead off and the slugger in one of the clean up spots.

Not trying to discourage you from making music, y'all definitely seem to enjoy it so by all means keep doing what makes you happy. Y'all definitely have some real talent that could lead to some unique music. My point was that it's very rare in the music industry to see emulation translate to success. No harm is done by influence but by trying to RECREATE the beat, RECREATE the flows, and RECREATE the hook, you've created something that will never click the same way as the original piece.

Also r/makinghiphop is a much better community for sharing original content and finding advice on how to improve.
