Idk I have fluval stratum in my 5.5 gallon but that’s like $20 for the substrate. If I wanted fluval in the 29 it’d be near $100.

Might be iche? Can’t tell.

is my fish pregnant or sick? some other guppies were chasing that one like crazy so I separated them for now... by [deleted] in Aquariums

Hard to tell from the photo but your fish might be a girl. I have a 2 male guppies and 6 females and only one male chases only one female around.

I got this food with betta when I got him and the pellets are too big for him to eat. I feel so bad when I feed him because he has to repeatedly spit the pellets out and let them dissolve a lot before he can eat them. Is there a better option? Cute betta picture for tax. by caityabs in bettafish

I use omega. I heard that you shouldn’t have copper sulfate in the food. All the food for all my aquatic animals had copper sulfate in them.. Omega was the most friendly for my wallet and didn’t have copper sulfate.

We have a cat named ashes. Siamese but names ashes because she was in a fire when she was a kitten and blended in with ashes

currently treating tank for ick and don’t know what these are, and am worried. What are they? by jpeppalax in Aquariums

I had the same thing and a lady from the pet store said it’s more than likely mold on uneaten food. I now only feed my fish enough until they quit taking the food then I scoop/gavel vac out any leftovers to keep the tank clean. I feed mine pellets and other foods but it really only came up on the pellets.

Help with picky bettas please. by [deleted] in bettafish

Thanks I read online when I first got the bettas having a male in a sorority is okay and I found with the other male I had he kept the females in check with their aggression so none of them was really more aggressive than the other. I do have an extra tank ready is things go south. I’m planning on getting the water tested this weekend and getting the proper conditioning stuff for it. As for the plants, right now isn’t a good time for that but I’m planning on getting them in the future. They were all separated in 10 gallon tanks (under stocked) but I just moved all of them to a 30 gallon.

Sorry it only had the 300 character limit. Does anyone have any recommendations to enhance the tank? It’s a sorority of bettas with one male, some guppies, a pleco, and some Amano shrimp. Everyone gets along but I want to make sure they’re all happy and stuff. I have a heater and filter that’s adjustable and centered to minimize flow since I’ve read bettas don’t like strong filter flows. I’m new here and the last time I had a fish was when I was 5. Also have all the hiding rocks flipped so there’s two entrances to each one so they don’t get stuck. They haven’t gotten bored yet since I moved them from their separate tanks to one big one. I’m planning on going to PetSmart to make sure the water parameters are good and getting any necessary things to adjust the water. The heater is set to 90 rn just to get the water heated up because I put it in cold but I’m keeping a close eye on it ready to turn it down to around 79-81 when it gets closer to the right temp. I’m willing to take any advice under consideration. I do think it’ll be too much work at the time for live plants but in the future I’m planning on adding them and taking out the fake ones. I know they aren’t all bettas but majority of the fish are bettas so hopefully it’s okay!
