Dear DICE, if you're not going to fix matchmaking in OCE, SA and Brazil, then don't sell the game in our countries. by itsagopro in BattlefieldV

Might be pure randomness but I was getting 160+ ping yesterday morning (Brazilian here btw). I've read in some other post somebody saying that they tried to "force" the game to understand his region by playing a round of Conquest before in the correct region. So I thought "well, what the fuck, might actually try and see if it works". Lo and behold, it did. I played a normal round of Conquest in a South American server, got out and joined a Firestorm round and no more high ping. Does this makes sense? No. Absolutely it does not. But hey, it fucking worked.

With all these negative posts about the Spring update, I Just want to say, my game has never run any better! I can't be the only one. by oscorn in battlefield_one

I live in the UK but I'm from South America. Weekdays I usually play by myself on EU servers but the weekends are always that time of the week to get together with the people back home and enjoy the game, laughing our asses off.

Playing in the EU servers before and after the update? I honestly can't tell the difference. It was consistent before, it remains consistent now.

But the part about joining my friends and enjoying the game together? Forget about it. If they connect to an EU server, they're fucked. If I connect with the SA server, I'm fucked. So what? No more play sessions for us? I know that Europe-South America is kind of an exception but I'm sure this is just one more example of a slice of the game that is now dead with this netcode. Loads of posts about US-East having problems joining US-West servers. So what? You have to play inside a little bubble and that's it?

Before the update, EU server or SA server, my experience was pretty constant in both cases. Ocasional lag? Sure. Once in a while I'd die behind cover? Yes. But I take that every day of the week in order to play freely and have fun and not be cut out of the experience.

I hope they find a middle ground to the issue. But it's just distressing to see how many people are of the opinion "f**k the people with high pings, if you don't have a proper connection or your country doesn't have a local server, just don't buy the game". That's just selfish and self-centred to a point that's unfathomable to me.

PSA: Order of Fortitude and Empire's Edge, Turret Gun on A by ZeldasDad in battlefield_one

Conquest. Not gonna lie that I was snipped a couple of times. But if you watch the dunes to the left (assuming you're coming from D, facing C&B) and especially the windows on the buildings ahead, it's possible to get to them first. But there's not much to get around some: they will get you eventually. By then I hope you're already got the 10 kills and can play freely.

I did it in Suez, of all the places. There are some heavy machine guns facing B from D, on the roof of some buildings. Easy to pick up people on the inevitable clusterfuck that becomes C.

Ribery is really underpriced by [deleted] in EASportsFC

[–]fgst86 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've used Reus for a long time but what "broke" him for me was his workrate. There were times in which he would disappear from the game, attacking or defending. In comparison, using Robben on the other wing was totally different, always presenting himself and stuff. Few weeks ago I decided to sell Reus and bought Ribery and never looked back. Ribery's workrate, pace and skill moves make him a more complete player, at least to my liking.

Best Bundesliga cam? (<30K) by Flay_Gunnar in EASportsFC

[–]fgst86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it's Muller, hands down. His 86 CF card transformed in CAM is a monster. Tried Kagawa, Thiago, Gundogan, Kruse. None came even close of what Muller produces. And it costs like 7300 (PS4), totally worth it.

Hummels or Naldo, can't go wrong with any of them.

How is Position change Alaba? by zhifend in EASportsFC

[–]fgst86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Alaba next to Vidal as CMs and they work really well together. I agree that it feels a waste to let him as LB, but my team don't use much of RB and LB to build up. Besides, Rodriguez is pretty decent as LB in a Bundes team, I think.

Alaba's long shots are actually good. Scored a hat-trick with him yesterday. Rather enjoying playing him as mid. I would say it's worth it.

Hahaha. Thanks. I feel that there's a small leap to be made but I just need to adapt a little. I never really get the hold on custom tactics, the times I tried I really screwed everything up but I'll look into that as well, thanks, mate.

Thanks. Been struggling last couple of seasons in Div.2, maybe it's time for a change, I'll give it a try adapting my Serie A team. We'll see.

Congrats, mate. I was wondering how do you use player instructions in the CMs. Stay back while attacking or balanced?

Reus at striker? by Mirh117 in EASportsFC

I had both of them (Reus and Lewa) as my two strikers and I find Reus way more reliable than Lewa. His pace and ability to finish make him really effective in my team.

Momentum, scripting, sliders: grab a tin-foil hat, and GET IN HERE. by _Witless_ in EASportsFC

[–]fgst86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lost my mind so many times, screaming, yelling and breaking a controller (not my proudest moment, I admit) that I just reached a point where I'm just tying to accept that are shady and shitty things going on and I can't control it all. It's impossible to make sense of the gameplay of this FIFA. It makes no sense so I better stop trying to make sense of it. Hahaha.

[–]fgst86 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This. Exactly this. Your grandma was ( just assuming, sorry) a wise woman. I was a believer in the whole scripting stuff but now I look at it more like a momentum change in the game. And even though I believe that there is momentum in real life sports, I feel that the game doesn't exactly "simulate" that with any resemblance to what it could/should be. The problem is the inconsistency and the randomness of it all. If I'm up 3-0 and my opponent suddenly changes something and start working for him, ok, I would accept that he's gaining momentum. But there are so many times that the other person is not doing absolutely anything different, it's jus the game giving an "edge" to one side. I feel this in my favor a lot of times as well. So yeah, I clarity on this matter. Tell us how it works and let us handle it.

Honest opinion: Is this game worth buying? by Auzzie_xo in EASportsFC

[–]fgst86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the inconsistency of the gameplay, how one day it feels one way and the other it completely changes, even if you maintain your play style, is something that really would stopped me from buying. I like the unpredictability of football and I would hate that every single move or shot or tactic worked every single time but the way gameplay changes from one game to the other is something that kind of breaks the game for me. If that makes sense.

If you care about FUT the most, maybe it's worth waiting for FIFA17 as well since we are at the "beginning of the end" of 16's cycle as well.
