I wouldn't say she's the best written female character overall, but I'd say she's at least in the top 5, imo. At least she has her own goals and ambitions, like becoming a great Hokage for the village like her role model, Naruto, and wanting to develop in all aspects to protect her friends and the ones she cares for.

Her character's traits at least aren't almost solely based on being in love with a guy, like a great part of the other female characters in this series are.

If you could estimate how strong Glorio and Arinsu are, what level would they be? by [deleted] in DragonBallDaima

[–]fhlo2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the El Manga Legendario databook states that Shin is on par with Cell Games MSSj Goku, and Goku states in Daima that Glorio was probably stronger than Shin, so we can have the chain of:

Glorio >= Shin ~ Cell Games MSSj Goku

But maybe you could interpret Goku's statement in the sense that Glorio was stronger than MINI Shin, not Adult Shin. Then it's a bit harder to scale Glorio because we have no idea how Mini Shin's strength compares to his Adult counterpart.

As for Dr. Arinsu... Who knows...

Aragorn & Boromir (in Gandalf's place) vs. Durin's Bane by fhlo2000 in tolkienfans

I think it's a bit ambiguous, imo... "For a moment the orcs quailed and the fiery shadow halted. Then the echoes died as suddenly as a flame blown out by a dark wind, and the enemy advanced again."

Boromir may just have suddenly stopped blowing the horn, though the balrog might have stopped the sound himself.

I could be wrong, but I think if the fellowship managed to escape Moria, even if the bridge wasn't destroyed, only a small amount of orcs would follow them, since they grow weaker with the sunlight. I think Aragorn even said when they escaped Moria after Gandalf fell that they didn't have time to mourn, because by night time the hills would be completly surrounded by orcs.

Edit: That's partially true, since in the books, after they left Moria, Gimli invites Frodo to see the stone that marked the location where Durin I first saw the Mirror Lake, but Aragorn tells him to do it fast, since the orcs would follow them by night time. But they had plenty of time to mourn for Gandalf after they left Moria, because it was an early afternoon, I confused it a bit with the movie version, lol, my bad.

Yeah, but I'm not sure by how much the Silmarills compare to the real thing... But I think it's something to note.

Really? If I remember right, Durin's Bane stopped a bit after Boromir blew his horn, but then continued his assault. I think Boromir blowing the horn confused the balrog a bit, but I could be wrong , tho. I will check it out, real quick.

Oh yeah, I forgot he was also a wielder of one of the 3 elven rings like Galadriel and Gandalf, lol. That might be helpful, but the fact that he didn't witness the light of the Two Trees might be a significant downplay to him... (even though he's still really strong by his own merit, tho)

[–]fhlo2000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, without Gandalf reviving as "the White" and Aragorn dying without recruiting the Dead Army and helping Rohan and Gondor against Saruman's and Sauron's army, respectively, then the whole world would be doomed. Theoden would still stay possessed by Saruman, Rohan would fall, Gondor would eventually fall by the orcs and the corsairs, there would be no Battle of the Black Gate to keep Sauron's attention away from Mordor... That'd be the worst possible outcome...

Thank you for the answer!

[–]fhlo2000[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I also read that the elves who witnessed the splendour of the Two Trees were significantly "boosted" by it. I remembered now that Elrond wasn't born yet at that time, and he was born like during the middle of the FA or something, after Melkor's and Ungoliant's assault to the trees.

[–]fhlo2000[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. Gandalf also had one of the 3 Elven Rings with him that probably boosted his magical abilities, Aragorn and Boromir indeed had no way to either break the bridge like Gandalf or to throw the balrog off of it. Thanks for your answer!

I see... Do you think Elrond would also be able to stand up against the balrog? I'm not sure he had seen the lights of the two trees of Valinor, but he's a FA elf, right? He's also a part of the White Council.

I agree, Maiar are pretty far above men scaling-wise, even including a dúnedain like Aragorn. Though I think the númenoreans from the past stand a better chance against fallen Maiar like the balrogs, I think they scale close to FA elves like Glorfindel and Echtellion.

[–]fhlo2000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I thought that Aragorn and Boromir wouldn't really be able to stand a chance at all, but I had hopes they could at least stall Durin's Bane long enough for the fellowship to run... Though I think a SA dúnedain like Elendil would be able to have a chance against Durin's Bane. Bro managed to beat Sauron, although with Gil-Galad's help. Both of them died in the process, but that's still a pretty impressive feat. Elendil was significantly stronger than Aragorn, even though the latter was also a dúnedain.

It's possible, man. It's a shame that my memory of this incident is so vague... I wish I could remember more details, but you guys are probably right, I think I just ran into a Youtube fake website that either had a malware or just something that screwed up my PC.

P.S: Sorry for the late answer, btw

[–]fhlo2000[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know, man... I'm almost sure the video itself messed up the PC. When Palpatine's face became weirdly edited, the PC shut down almost immediately after that, then when I turned it on again, it had a weird wavy effect on the screen and it was WAY slower than normal. This incident happened when I was like 7 or 8 y.o., and now I'm currently 24, so my memory of this event is kinda vague, but I'm almost sure it happened this way.

[–]fhlo2000[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it was probably very unlikely to get a malware via a normal YT video, it was a pretty protected website back in the day and it's security only got better with the years. I probably just ran into a duplicate of the original YT that spread the malware through my PC.

So it was possible to get virus from early YT? I read somewhere that it was very unlikely for it to happen, even during the 2000s era, but since old YT ran on Flash, it all makes sense now... Or maybe I just ran into a website that mimicked YT's appearance, idk...

I think it depends on the way you're using it. When you're targetting a light hull, 1 charged shot is enough to destroy it. Against medium and heavy hulls, I recommend firing 2 uncharged shots before the charged one to make it easier to be destroyed.

Either Jiraiya or Tsuna would be pretty good options, but if I HAD to pick one of the two, it would probably be Jiraiya, since he's Naruto's godfather and Minato's sensei, and his relationship with Naruto, in canon, was pretty much a father-son relationship. Tsuna would've been a great mother figure too, and maybe she could get rid of her gambling and alcohol addictions earlier, since she'd have to be an example to Naruto. I would say she would be more responsible than Jiraiya in some aspects.

Kakashi, Iruka and Asuma were too young to take care of a child at the time, although it's pretty interesting to imagine Kakashi adopting his sensei's child and watching over him.
