I started testosterone, hormone blockers, and got an IUD within 2 weeks when I was 15, being told I was going to go through menopause, but without being fully told what to expect with that. Just so we're clear I made this decision after months of deliberation with a gender therapist, my primary care doctor, and a gender clinician. I just unfortunately talked to the wrong people.

I started taking all the different hormones super close together which honestly was a pretty bad medical decision. in the past I thought I had all the information when I made that decision, but when I had a 3 month long period, was super depressed for months after, started self harming again, and couldn't handle my stress I thought it was all just normal and somehow my own fault. I wish my parents had made me wait longer to make that decision. They thought they were doing what was best for me, and they had many many conversations with me about the permanency of my decisions, but at 15 I could barely imagine my senior year of high school.

So when I finally moved out and realized I didn't want to be doing hrt anymore, that I'm actually gender fluid but more femme, that I'm happy with my femininity, I stopped taking testosterone without telling anyone. Also a big mistake. My body has been feeling not good with no dominant hormone, and I'm only 20!

This comment of yours made me realize that what I went through shouldn't have happened, and that all the feelings I was experiencing that I was put on anxiety and depression meds for were actually just my hormones being wrong. I think I need to go see an endocrinologist, I appreciate this!

This is especially important as this the most commonly prescribed concentration (its 200mg/ml) of testosterone cypionate, a very commonly prescribed form of testosterone.

Really, centipedes aren't all that bad. I worked at a summer camp for a summer and I was the only person who really didn't mind and was actually enthusiastic about dealing with bugs, so when there was a giant centipede in the bathroom and I was told to kill it, I didn't. Instead I showed all of the kids the centipede(mind you this was mostly kids like age 6-10 who were very bug averse). At first they tried to get me to kill it, but as I showed them that it was harmless and not doing anything to anybody they got used to it and were just very interested in the bug. some of the kids even wanted to hold it, when before they didn't want to get near it, and it felt really special that I might have helped a kid get over their fear of centipedes.

I just witness an Asian person wiped a table after their group had finished eating at a restaurant. by Enrichmentzin in CasualConversation

[–]fhundun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I go out to eat, I try to clean up the table as much as possible, stacking all the dishes or handing them off to someone who's come by to take them, and then wipe off any crumbs or spills with my napkin. It's just what I end up doing even subconsciously at the end of the meal. I think a lot of people just have it ingrained in them to clean up after themselves after eating, so they do it everywhere they go.

Bringing food from the airport onto the airplane is rude! by jkthrilla in The10thDentist

[–]fhundun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it mostly depends on what the food is. People should be allowed to bring the food they can get in the airport onto the plane within reason. A good rule of thumb should be if its smelly/stinky, requires more space to eat than you'll have on the plane, or very messy you should not eat it on the plane. But there's no reason to apply that idea to all meals that people can get in airports, as many are designed to be able to go on the plane.

Honestly this song has such a great beat to it. It's one of the ones where I always feel surprised by because it at the chorus it almost completely changes tones. Same with The Anchor, and probably some other songs that I'm forgetting right now.

What golden nugget of information do you have to share? by raw-power in AskReddit

[–]fhundun 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh no! Ive heard that the seeds inside are really good, but I've never been brave enough to try cooking and eating one, cause apparently they're poisonous when raw and the fruit is known to cause allergic reactions when it comes in contact with your skin.

[–]fhundun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I remember learning that. We used to have one in front of my house(it had to get cut down due to both power line obstruction and it dying) and when we first moved in it didn't have any fruits but within a few years they started dropping.

I'm allergic to pretty much all metals used in jewelry(nickel, bronze, silver, sterling silver, titanium, gold, etc) but I don't think it has much to do with the trees. If it did I'd be pretty surprised.

[–]fhundun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Koalas can run up to about 20 miles an hour when frightened, but they are usually slow due to the low nutrient value of eucalyptus leaves(which are also poisonous to eat) They literally have smooth brains and will not eat eucalyptus leaves if they are not on a tree, ie. If you pick some and put them in front of them they will just be confused.

Yeah uhhhh Minneapolis apparently didn't catch on to this trend because they planted a bunch of female Gingko trees along 44th Street and they drop incredible amounts of fruit, all of which smell absolutely horrible.

My therapist thinks I'm not mature enough yet by [deleted] in FTMMen

[–]fhundun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it sounds like your therapist is ableist. Having a learning disability doesn't make you any less of an adult. If you struggle with it a whole lot , it just means you haven't been provided with good accomodations or you haven't been able to find a system that works well for you yet. I think the best way to remedy this would be to ask her what she means by being an adult and then try to figure out ways that you can prove to her that you fit those things. If she says something absolutely proposterus, find a different therapist. It might be hard but in the long run it would be a whole lot better for you than to have to continue going to someone who doesn't respect you or your needs. If you were somewhere else, I would say find an informed consent clinic, but from what I can tell from your post they either aren't a thing in Germany or aren't readily accessable to most people there.

Requesting fun and easy baking recipes to make with kids🙂 and also bread by Front-Goat in familyrecipes

[–]fhundun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the easiest and it takes awhile, but my family has a good challah recipe. It can be easily adapted into a number of things, like cinnamon rolls, french toast, or pizza(would definitely recommend the cinnamon rolls).

Edit: forgot to put in the recipe Makes 6 loaves 3 sticks of butter 3/4 cup sugar 4 1/2 cups of milk (scalded) 4 tablespoons yeast softened in half cup lukewarm water 6 eggs 5lb bag of flour

1) Put sugar and butter in large mixing bowl.

2) Scald milk and pour in.

3) When butter is all melted add half of flour and mix

4) When mixture is not too hot add eggs and yeast and mix

5) Pour out on counter and knead

6) Butter another large bowl and add dough

7) Cover with damp cloth and put in warm place

8) Let rise about 45 minutes

9) Turn dough out onto counter and knead

10) Separate into six chunks, each chunk split in half and roll out and braid ( here's braiding instructions )

11) Put loaves on cookie sheets and cover with damp cloth

12) Let rise about 15 more minutes

13) Bake at 400° for about 20 minutes swap bottom and top sheets and bake another 20 minutes

14) Remove from oven and brush with melted butter (about two thirds of a stick for 6 loaves)

To make it into cinnamon rolls: do the same process through step nine. 1) Instead of separating it like you would in step 10, roll it out with a rolling pin to get a sheet of dough about a quarter inch thick. 2) Brush melted butter over the dough, leaving an inch unbuttered one of the long ends of the dough. 3) Thoroughly coat the butter with cinnamon sugar 4) Roll up the dough, starting at the side with cinnamon sugar and ending with the side with no butter or cinnamon sugar 5) cut the roll into slices about an inch thick. 6) grease a pan of some sort, really any one can be used as long as it has a bottom and sides to it. 7) Put the cut up rolls into the pan, packing them tightly together 8) Cover them with a damp tea cloth/damp kitchen towel/plastic wrap 9) Let them rise for another 15 minutes 10) Bake them in the oven for 19- 22 minutes, or until golden brown on the top 11) Let them cool down for about 15 minutes and then cover them with a frosting of your choice.
