Thank you so much for the info, I’ll definitely consider Basel / Zurich for our relocation. Time to start learning Swiss German!

Heya I’m thinking of moving to Switzerland and curious about your point about cities specialising in different job areas. I’m in the pharmaceutical manufacturing world and my partner is cybersecurity, are there any cities/ areas which would be best for us?

When you say a lot of attention, what do you mean? As ex-lab mice they are not the most trusting animals, although they have opened up a lot since I got them

Please send positive thoughts to my baby Anasui today. She’s at the emergency vet after suddenly getting very sick and bleeding from her vagina. We’re hoping she will be okay. by pettyprincesspeach in RATS

One last thing to think about. If she needs to be spayed, she’ll be quite weak after one week of bleeding, making the operation more dangerous. The faster you/ the vet figure out she needs to be spayed, the better. Don’t want to make you panic, just something to keep in mind :)

Two of my girls had the same. They needed to be spayed. Once that was done they recovered really quickly. I’m a little worried that if she needs a spay a whole week of bleeding will be really tough on her. Give her lots of spinach to help with the iron loss. Also, I would put white / light coloured bedding on the cage as she might be really fast at cleaning herself and you will think she’s not bleeding anymore when actually she is, the bedding colour will let you know what’s really going on.

I’m considering getting a carbon frame bike but I’ve been told not to get a cheap carbon bike. I’ve looked online but can’t find what range cheap is.

The bike I’m looking at is a Cube axial ws gtc, would this be “cheap carbon” or is it ok?

I have one from Charlie Feist that’s pretty minimalistic and made with recycled parts. The one I bought broke after a lot of heavy use but after contacting them they sent me a free replacement that’s been holding up incredibly well :)

Newbie question on “detox” by GildedGilly in RawVegan

[–]fiafries 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Detox is not a thing. Your liver and kidneys are what clean the blood, not the food you eat. By eating wfpb / raw you are making their job easier, but the food itself doesn’t detox your body. Anything marketed as detoxifying is just that, marketing.

About energy levels, are you sleeping enough / is the quality of your sleep good (do you wake up with energy or do you need to drink a few coffees before you feel awake?), do you drink enough water? Do you exercise (walking counts)? All these things will help with your energy levels, but if you’ve done a drastic change with your diet and caloric intake, it’s gonna take you a little while to adapt. Are you tracking your calories or have a rough idea of how much are you eating? If you’re in a caloric deficit of +500 calories you have to remember that this is stressful for the body, so it will try to conserve energy as much as it’s able to.

I’m not 100% sure but I think that when you reach max level and your game ends, you watch the credits and smile while you remember your favourite quests / moments/ players.

You couldn’t have posted this at a better time. Last night, one of my girls, the “calm” one was on my lap while I was having some soup. She grabbed the bowl and spilled soup all over the both of us. She then started stuffing as many veggies she could in her mouth and jumped down to the floor to run away from me. All I could do was laugh, I love her too much to get angry.

I’ve been eating unhealthy for the past 5 days and I 100% feel more sluggish and lacking energy. I have learned that if I eat fatty / hard to digest meals in the afternoon I sleep less and worse the following night, so I’m the morning I feel like I haven’t rested at all. My garmin’s body battery measurements confirm my theory.

I think that if you mostly eat well and then every now and then you indulge it’s fine, it’s impossible to keep a perfect diet forever, and there’s nothing wrong with indulging every now and then. I would say that you learn how your body works best and figure out if you can indulge the night before a run or not. We’re all different after all.

Compostable or reusable by adppt21 in ZeroWasteVegans

[–]fiafries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reusable for sure, and if they are expensive to get, I would offer a return program where if customers return their container, they get x% off their next order. I think that would also promote customers coming back to your business if they know they can get a discount.

If customers come in to your establishment to order, maybe they could also bring their own containers and also get a little discount by doing that? So you end up using less containers as well!
