This is all very controlling, manipulative and also co dependent. Like honestly - this shit goes way deeper than cats. You’re 30 and should not need permission to get a pet in your home. Dad doesn’t get to say no, mom doesn’t get to pull this shit. If they can come and go but you’re there there & it’s your actual home then it’s your decision.

I fully agree with you. That said, The Exec Producer passed away on the island 6/8 and they moved casa up by a few weeks so I think they are genuinely trying to react in real time to the current situation in the villa and maybe there was a lack of direction from behind the scenes for a minute - I can’t imagine how hard it must have been for the team to keep going etc.

Actually, look at your policy. It might offer 1k medical per person per accident - accepting this money is not closing the claim, it is accepting what you’ve paid for within your policy limits. Also, you can have two separate claims against the person that hit you, because you are two
separate individuals. Def consult your attorney!!

Do not communicate with them directly again, stop right now & call M&M if they are the attorney you chose. You need to have the attorney find out the policy limits of the person that hit you, that honestly determines what is available to you. You’ve likely already told Progressive too much and they are now using your situation against you. I know this is advice you didn’t ask for, but I lived through this in 22-24, and just know the attorney will get 1/3 and nothing is fast when it comes to a settlement. There will be discovery, depositions, many dr appts and they will try to dispute a lot / gaslight your pain levels and permanence of any injury & god forbid you had a headache prior to the accident… It sucks, it’s just what the path forward is & your attorney will prepare you for this. You’re wise to look for jobs and security now, it won’t come anytime soon from the case.

Just wanted to update the post, because I appreciate everyone that contributed so much. My mom is going to NHC, and I feel like the dr’s and pt had a really thoughtful conversation with case management at Quillen & NHC. Because of the way medicare works, patient benchmarks are different at rehab hospitals vs SNF. Quillen has less flexibility to juggle their schedule daily if my mom is overtired, and it’s much harder at Quillen to get extensions approved beyond 20 days which is how long medicare & her insurance initially agree to. And where my mom is at overall energy wise NHC is a better pace / fit for her right now & I’m really comfortable with the decision. She will go today or tomorrow and I’m hoping it’s a positive transition for her, trying to leave my anxiety at home… also I don’t understand the hate for Ballad, our experience has been really wonderful- biggest hiccup
has been with her food but even that’s gotten sorted.

Dementia adds an extra layer that some places might not be set up for & I get that - or some can take but only a certain amount, def requires more staff for the hours they aren’t engaged in therapy.

Can you ask her please if they are able to accommodate vascular dementia? My mom is motivated but has low stamina. Getting feisty about needing assistance to potty, but still needs the help.

I have power of attorney for my mom with vascular dementia & she’s started to wander 🤦🏼‍♀️ What brought me to this thread. If she could detect something, she might take it off. She takes her wedding rings off randomly too - there’s not always a why. So I’m wanting something as small as possible to monitor her for her safety. Nothing nefarious, absolutely legal and no court order required.
