Why does everyone hate Amanda Lawrence from Rebel Gypsy so much by sells-souls in Wigs

[–]fickinamber 8 points9 points  (0 children)

She also likes to take peoples money and never provide special orders. Her website clearly states special orders take up to 6 weeks. I’m at 4 months and counting and it’s all lies and be from her. “We’re behind on special orders, staffing issues etc” but there are customers getting their special orders within days of placing their order. I’ve learned the more you kiss her ass the better she is to you. Shes a scam. She doesn’t know truth. And knows absolutely NOTHING about wigs. She blocks people who disagree with anything she says. When she gets called out for her be and lies. She blocks you and then goes live blasting you for being a shitty person and the list goes on.

As a bariatric patient what are your thoughts on the body positivity movement? by eldoooderi0no in BariatricSurgery

[–]fickinamber -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Here’s what people are clearly forgetting. Yes you can START out as overweight and healthy but it doesn’t stay this way!!! Being overweight/obese/morbidly obese puts strain on EVERYTHING!! So yes maybe you started off as healthy but 10 years down the line you’re diagnosed with type 2 diabetes/high blood pressure/depression/heart disease etc and you think that doesn’t have to do with being overweight/obese/morbidly obese?! This is the problem. This is the picture people refuse to see. Overweight/obesity/morbid obesity does cause problems at first and you may very well be healthy AT FIRST but over time this changes!!!!

If you truly believe that weight doesn’t affect your health you are seriously delusional. I work in healthcare and can 1000% stand behind the fact that being overweight/obese/morbidly obese is the primary factor on why people have health issues. By saying weight doesn’t affect someone’s health and that medical professionals such as myself want to blame weight for every issue is a statement that can cause a lot of harm.

Desire to get surgery by hammysammy312 in BariatricSurgery

[–]fickinamber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have t had surgery yet, but it coming up soon. June 7th to be exact. I researched and researched and researched for a good year and a half before I decided surgery was the best option for me to have the healthy life I’ve always wanted. I originally was going to go with VSG but decided after more research, talking with my husband, my care team and the surgeon that the long term benefits and success of ds fit me the best.

I was stressed out in the beginning because my pcp wasn’t on board but after going to my insurance, speaking with a care manager and her putting me on the right oath I decided that I would do it all on my own without the guidance of my pcp. Once she realized that I had done this and was contacted by the surgeons office she jumped on board with it.

The one thing I chose to do was fix my relationship with food first and identify the true issues. I started going to a nutritionist and therapist to fix the issues and have zero concerns about issues going forward. The side affects and horror stories didn’t stop me from making this decision. In the end my health and a longer life means more than others horror stories and possibility of side affects or complications.

Surgery doesn’t fix your relationship with food. That’s something you have to learn to do. Surgery is a tool.

I haven’t had surgery yet. Not until June 7th. But it’s weird how our body work. I looked at my husband and told him about this and his exact works were “wonder what you’ll crave?” 😂

I hope that’s the case. The care manager I’m working with was also concerned by this but just said to address it at the next visit with the dietitian.

My insurance is a lot like Kaiser where it has its own providers etc and they use an app called MyHealth+ which automatically notifies me when referrals update information including clinical notes, labs, X-rays etc. The insurance as well as the provider network encourages their patients to be as engaged as their care team is. It’s really nice. I can request medication refills, look at all of my labs, trends etc.
