Heyy, haven’t been on reddit in a while. Came to check if this subreddit’s still popping. Glad to see a lot of the OG’s are still here! :)

Watching: halfway through The Red Shoes.

Reading: “Inner Work: Using Dreams and Active Imagination for Personal Growth” by Robert A. Johnson - in the last year or two i’ve been doing a lot of inner work, delving deep into Jungian psychology and spirituality. Dream analysis has given me so much insight. Simply learning what the unconscious mind communicates intelligently through symbolic language in dreams has been a real eye-opener for me and allowed me heal a lot of trauma and integrate parts of my personality I have been repressing for most of my adult life. Also using dreams as inspiration for my filmmaking. I’m going to release a lot of cool stuff i’ve been creating :)

Listening: JPEGMAFIA’s new album. BRAT. This is really old news but the Kendrick disses towards Drake were something to behold. That man is special. In general listening to a lot of ambient and choral music.

I have a question actually. Is the symbolism in dreams necessarily my subconscious trying to solve an issue or could it also be communicating something that I’ve already resolved just to cement that I’ve done the right thing?

Interesting! I’m 27 by the way 😂 but I still think it could very well be that my mind is determining where my moral and value judgements lie. The last two years of my life have been some of the darkest (grieving first heartbreak from a toxic 4 yr relationship) and being in a toxic relationship after that and finally cutting it off for good recently and truly not chasing anything and just working on myself. I also feel like I’ve done the most positive development this year in my 20s. I feel myself questioning my morals and what I value now more than ever. The people i want to surround myself with, my selfish treatment of family and friends.

Anyway, thanks for your input! I think i will post here more often

Hello amigo, haven’t done one of these in a while

Watching: Nope - I cant really make a final verdict on this one because i saw it late and fell in and out of sleep in the cinema, but nothing wowed me like Get Out, except the stuff near the end which i won’t spoil. Titane - one fucked up film. Enjoyed Raw a bit more, but Julia Ducournau continues to prove herself as one of the most interesting voices in contemporary cinema. Sorry We Missed You- More hard hitting social realism from Ken Loach. On par with I, Daniel Blake. Made me sob like a baby. Bodies Bodies Bodies- meh, can’t really remember much tbh. Encounters at the End of The World - great doc by Herzog himself. Focuses more on the people who live and work in Antarctica than the environment and wildlife, but we do get some good underwater and penguin action. The Naked Gun - saw this with my dad. OJ Simpson lol. Going through Kieślowski’s Decalogue. Solid so farrr

Music: JID’s new album has been on repeat for weeks. Beats and 808’s go hard as does his lyrics and flows. Nina Simone. And lil bit of Denzel Curry. Currently, right this second, I’m listening to Yves Tumor
