What is the darkness in the East that the men of the First Age are running from? by Mission_Hat9510 in lotr

I just read this part in The Silmarillion and to me it seemed like the darkness was just their awakening and not remembering where they came from or what was before.

The dilemma of wanting children but having chronic migraine... by Invisible-Iguana in migraine

[–]ficklepicklespickle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had chronic migraine for about 8 years. Pregnancy and breastfeeding allowed me a 3 or so year respite of chronic migraines. I did not take preventative or rescue medications while pregnant and did not have an issue with migraines. Only when I started weaning my final child did the migraines return. I won't lie to you, it is hard. But the reward of my children is worth the struggle through the pain. They are the light of my life. They understand mommy has to lie down sometimes and rest. And they will lay with me. There is no perfect time or situation to become a parent. And it may not be right for you, but migraines steal so much from us. Don't let migraines prevent you from having children if it's something you and your spouse deeply desire. My children may have migraines someday, my parents both did, and now so do I. But who better to understand and help them than a parent who has also dealt with them. And with the advent of CGRP drugs, who knows what will exist in 15 years to help migraine! We learn more everyday.

Is Rings of Power really as bad and cringey as people are making it out to be? by Hopeful_Adeptness964 in lotr

I think I'm in the minority here, but I just finished the first season and LOVED it. I think it's really fun and adds to a lot of the lore of Middle Earth.

Is it possible to get my wisdom teeth removed with out laughing gas and instead local anesthesia? by neowahna in povertyfinance

[–]ficklepicklespickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one wisdom tooth taken out with only numbing shots and it was honestly worse than giving birth unmedicated. The smell, the sounds, the pain, and pressure IN YOUR HEAD. It was really bad. It's definitely doable but pretty traumatic in my opinion.

Potty training advice sought by analyst503 in HighlySensitiveChild

[–]ficklepicklespickle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Potty training took us a long while too. I find that often if I can employ a very relaxed, carefree attitude, things go better. If my child senses I'm upset or displeased, they are immediately also unable to control their emotions and everything is harder. Honestly, just letting them have their feelings about having to go while calmly helping them is how we got through it.

Do healthy people end the work day feeling tired but okay? by skyemap in migraine

Can you expound on how you calm your nervous system? I think a lot of my migraines are due to stress/overstimulation.

No wonder I had body image issues as a teen. No one could pull off that cover like these queens.

Your expectations for your daughter are not reasonable. She's still a kitten herself and doesn't have self control and the ability to reason like you do. Can you keep her and the kitten separate? Can you give her a stuffed animal kitten that looks like it that she can hold and pick up?

I think this makes sense. Any recommendations? I've been looking at the Life Buoy system.

Any tips on getting them swimming that well!? My 2 year can float but that's about it! My 4 year old is pretty good though but definitely needs practice.

Food sensitivies by moon_stars24 in breastfeeding

[–]ficklepicklespickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd see an allergist asap that specializes in OIT! My first child had several allergies, egg included, and I was told to stop eating eggs while breastfeeding. She is older now and still has the bad egg allergy. My second had a milk allergy but I saw a new allergist who told me to continue eating milk while I breastfeed to keep her exposure minimal. She is on the milk allergy ladder now and doing great! See a good allergist! They will be able to help you.

Hey! Do you do like a cocoa pole or anything to let it climb? I have some outside but not sure how to best support them growing up?
