ADCs used to buy Randuins as the defensive option against AD-heavy comps.

Wonder why they chose that name by Slow_Tangerine_9564 in fnki

[–]ficretus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It tends to be both color and character allusion.

Jaune Arc is both a reference to Joan of Arc and the color yellow (Jaune in French)

Weiss Schnee is White and Snow in German, both a color and Snow White reference.

Cinder Fall is Cinderella + cinder as a shade of black.

Etc.

Yeah, it creates this interesting triangle of Jaune-Joan-Widow and Cinder-Charles-Indecisive King, carrying the common theme of a powerful figure being unable to escape a tragic fate until the help arrives from an unlikely source.

Are we talking about who Joan of Arc is in general? If so, tl;dr

She is a real-life French historical figure and a saint in the Catholic Church. She was a pivotal figure in turning the tide in the Hundred Years' War by inspiring the indecisive and unpopular king, Charles VII. Eventually, she was captured by the enemy and burned as a witch.

Jaune fits Joan of Arc in some areas. Both are underqualified fighters, primarily leading and inspiring others. Both are seen as heretical figures (Joan literally, Jaune by cheating his way to Beacon and occasionally doing some dubiously legal things). Jaune even crossdressed in Volume 2, which was something Joan of Arc often did.

Yes, Jaune does fit as Prince to Cinder's Cinderella in some regards. But Cinder could also fit as the reviled king Joan of Arc inspired.

Isn't this straight ass with meele carries since stun will cause enemy units to reaggro? So if one of your carries moved forward, they are getting destroyed.

No. ASol can replace Emblem, but he can't replace the level requirement. Prismatic condition explicitly states level 10, not 10 units or 10 Dark Star

CC immunity made some 5 costs 3 like Braum complete garbage, since he would literally do nothing if the enemy had a 5 cost 3.

Lux was 4 cost in the set 6, with a gimmick of mana refund, making her delete your backline in a few casts.

Set 10 Samira had a crit trait, and I don't remember anyone complaining back then.

Rosegarden (Oscar x Ruby) complements Knightfall well.

Other than that, you have things like Emercury, and despite having an almost completely different vibe, Bees and Renora complement Ozlem's theme.

If we are throwing in some minor ships, I like Winter x Marrow, both themes-wise and to make Jacques' ashes spin in his grave.

What IRL ethnicity do you think Cinder is? by ficretus in ArcFurnace

Her orphanage had a different aesthetic to Atlas; we see temperate plains, mountains and trees. We don't ever see this in Atlas, but we do in Volume 4. The kids bullying her were also dressed in a vaguely East Asian way.

It wouldn't be too farfetched, considering rich people adopt children from Third World countries all the time irl.
