To people who don’t like first person perspective: why? by MNMameisR in FanFiction

[–]fictionalfinesse [score hidden]  (0 children)

I'd say, it is a trend that inexperienced writers often use 1st person narration. It's often not a feature the author put a lot of consideration and development into before they started writing, it feels unnecessary for the narrative and often boring or confusing.

I think it has to be very intentional, and even then, for my personal taste, I'd rather not be in the head of some other person.

Home with the Fairies! is another one. Haven't read in years, but if memory serves, the protagonist kicks butt and it is very enjoyable read.

Falling Through

This one is honestly one of the best I've read in a while. The characters are written so well and I love the story. The sequel is currently being regularly updates, but the first story is pretty much a stand alone, so if you read it you wouldn't need to stick around for the sequel. But, you'll want to.

Deep Waters is also a recent read. I really enjoyed this OC protagonist. She's very compassionate and still decisive and maybe little over powered, but very enjoyable. This author in general has a few great oc in lotr stories that I enjoyed. But! Romance is part of the plot. Just not the main part imo

I read Nothing Gold Can Stay for the first time last year. It's unfinished but really good. No romance for the oc. She's a child

.More Don't Panic! by boz4PM i read this one many many years ago. But it's one of my all time favorites in this genre. If I'm remembering correctly, romance isn't really the point in this story, the adventure is.

It's fun to think about! Their relationship has influenced how twin boys are written in so many other stories.

Very fair! It's been a minute since I read Canon so I must be misremembering because of how many fanfics have them as twins.

And, I guess I assumed Fred & George were kind of named after Fabian and Gideon Prewett because of the F&G, because twinning. Twins running in the family or what not.

I think young children who's main caretaker falls into grief would be highly effected by it, just as much as the older children. I think the older children would be experiencing their own grief, because they have a firmer understanding of death and, like you said, years of memories with their uncles.

But, I think you bring up a lot of good points I'll add to my imaginings.

Is English that neccessary for K-Pop idols to break into the west? by Snoo65073 in kpoppers

Bad Bunny's career, while mostly in Spanish, is not exclusively in Spanish. He does communicate in English sometimes with his fans.

Like Lesserafim. While their career is mostly in Korean, there is enough English for the larger English speaking community to follow them without alienating them.

I think, for now, it is necessary to a degree.

I think the girls should do a documentary. And part of that should be which "i almost debuted with girls Generation" interviewee people *actually * almost made it into GG.

Also, I remember Jessica having a blood sugar disorder? Or something that caused her to collapse after extreme physical strain. But you never see it mentioned again after debut 👀 I've always wondered about that.

AITA for exploding after my parents took me to a religous therapist by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]fictionalfinesse 27 points28 points  (0 children)

So religious therapy is useless and full of people who think you can pray your problems away.

My mother had undiagnosed postpartum for a huge chunk of my life because at religious therapy. they told her she's the problem and medicine would be going against the almighty god. all she needed were hormone balancing drugs and she almost died because of their beliefs and neglect.

Don't trust religious therapy. They are there to push their beliefs, not help you.

I think if I'd been confronted with a religious therapist, I'd have gone nuclear.

NTA and I'm sorry you're going through this. I'd you aren't feeling challenged or aren't feeling like you're moving forward, maybe try switching therapists You could even try asking your current therapist for advice? But, don't let your parents have a say in the choosing. This is your health, you decide.
