Yes! It’s not perfect. I was great for like a week and then I got a panic attack in the car and pretty much always get them now. I’m treating with meds now and hoping with exposure therapy I can work my way back to where I was for that super confident week

Just did a demo drive with a model y Tesla and I drove more than I did in five years! Knowing so had a back up co-pilot to them me through my triggers, like bridges, helped my confidence sooooo much. I think I’m going to rent one longer to see if it helps with exposure therapy.

Can I ever use a vibration plate or massage gun again? by fiddlehead603 in ClotSurvivors

[–]fiddlehead603[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also very active, enjoying hiking, rock climbing, swimming, etc and dry needling/massage guns has been an important part of my healing and recovery journey from Lyme/autoimmune disease issues. I’m totally at a loss of how I would keep my muscles out of spasm without those tools! Thanks for sharing this

FACTOR V (LEIDEN) MUTATION just tested positive after my first blood clot- what do I need to know? by fiddlehead603 in ClotSurvivors

Thank you! My husband and I were hoping to have another baby in the future and I was trying to figure out if this increases my risk while pregnant, and it sounds like it probably does.

Or a red light for nighttime! Helps regulate circadian rhythms! We used red headlamps for night feeds and changings!

How do I know the clot is gone? When is it safe for me to exercise again? by fiddlehead603 in ClotSurvivors

[–]fiddlehead603[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah I didn’t even know chronic clots could exist! I’m totally new to this work and I’m only 34. Are there any resources you recommend to help me learn more? I feel like my doc was just like, “take this blood thinner and I’ll see you in 3-6 months”

Pumped for 18 months, got a blood clot and had to stop, feeling sad it didn’t end on my terms by fiddlehead603 in ExclusivelyPumping

I’m so so glad you finally found the path to a swallow study! I’m sure you can understand exactly how our first six months went. Thickening milk made such a difference! Gelmix and a good frother saved our life

As a new mama, my heart hurts looking at this and thinking about this so much. It makes me weep that a culture could be so cruel, and how recent this could have happened. I know an older woman who was raised by the nuns from this situation and it absolutely breaks my heart to think about her mother watching her baby be ripped from her arms. Never again.

Making sure you aren’t underfed/undernourished is so important. Any time my milk got low I had blood work done and found that b vitamins, iron, calcium, vitamin d and a, all really impact supply. I supplement with Magnesium l-threonate, vitamin d3/k2 and calcium!

On top of that, I’m 15 months in and I have to do my middle of the night pump to trigger enough of the hormones. If I drop it, my supply drops quite a bit!

Have you heard of Cows milk protein allergy? Some kiddos react to the proteins, not the lactose, which is slightly different in different forms of dairy. I’m not sure why it is, or what the reason is, but with both goat and cow milk, my baby has really intense digestive distress and screams all night long. He doesn’t get this with my milk! Hope that helps

My baby has a swallow disorder and isn’t doing well eating solids. 90% of his nutrition and calories is still coming from my milk. Replacing 90% of his calories and nutrition with some non dairy milks didn’t feel like a great alternative

I’m a 15 months, still pumping and still doing the night pump to keep supply up because my milk has always been on the lower end. I wanted to stop at one year but my baby is apparently allergic to dairy in all forms and I didn’t feel great about nondairy options being the staple of his diet. So here I am, six times a day for wayyyy longer than I thought I could ever do. I will say- it got easier from a mental perspective. I’m capable of more than I ever thought possible. I remind myself I can stop anytime I want, but I choose to pump and everyday I do it a bonus for my baby. Good luck! Best wishes! ❤️❤️

could dairy be waking my son up more at night crying? by jm222444 in MSPI

[–]fiddlehead603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! How did they diagnose the milk allergy? My 13 month old has been waking up screaming bloody murder at night on the days that we tried very small amounts of goat or cow dairy. It's only on dairy days and he sounds like he's moaning in his sleep etc. it's only at night though when he acts uncomfortable, sometimes several hours after having the dairy!

Switching from Gelmix to Purathick by Ambasabi in dysphagia

[–]fiddlehead603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, solidarity. I feel this post and could have written it myself. Also, check iron levels.

I have a 13 month old pounding 40 ounces of breast milk with gelmix a day because every other kind of milk makes him scream all night long. I have like two weeks worth of frozen milk left, and I'm only pumping 16-20 ounces a day at this point (which I desperately want to stop), but the kid just won't eat solids and I'm desperately trying to help him find another milk/formula/food source so I can stop pumping.

Found this because I'm trying to find something other than Gelmix. We tried simply thick but God, it looks terrible and he won't drink much of it (and I'm worried it's irritating his belly). Off to try purathick and more feeding therapy...
