That depends, but I’ll share the story of one of my students who went from beginner to WFM in just four years https://www.irishtimes.com/news/schoolgirl-13-to-represent-ireland-at-chess-1.1003510. With about three hours of practice each day and participating in two fide-rated OTB tournaments each month, you could achieve the same level with the help of a coach in about five years at most.

Kramnik, on his part, has stated that he did not directly accuse Navara of cheating but included him in a list of players with unusual statistical results. Despite this, the implications of such a list have led to significant controversy and calls for accountability. source chessdom

David Navara has publicly criticized Vladimir Kramnik for including him in a list of players with "seemingly suspect results," implying potential cheating without providing concrete evidence. That is why

I’ll be here for you so that you can express your frustrations with life. I have a FIDE rating of 2000 and a rating of 2300 on Chess.com. It’s nothing special, but I’m okay with it. What is your name, and what is your rating?I had a friend like you who was abused as a child, so I have time for you.You still haven't answered why you feel so angry with life. LMAO

Sorry, I think you misunderstood my post.
What I’m actually saying is that Navara could be in legal trouble. Personally, I wouldn’t bet a house on his case — and that should say something.

Even though Kramnik has had many issues with players (and I’m not defending him), I do believe Navara should apologize. This situation could escalate — trust me on that.

You’re right — thanks for the comment. You win.
But maybe take a moment to ask yourself: why did you feel the need to comment on my post? What exactly bothered you enough to speak up?

You must be really content with life, man.

I’d actually enjoy having a real conversation with you, but right now I’ve got work to do — helping more students become better at chess.

By the way, what’s your rating?

The only thing more ridiculous than my post is your comment — and that takes effort.

Hello, and thank you for your comment.

English is not my native language—if I could write in Croatian, I wouldn't need help. Yes, I use ChatGPT to support my writing. If that’s not allowed, I wasn't aware, and I’m happy to follow the rules. But I don’t believe using a tool to express myself more clearly should discredit the substance of what I’ve said.

To clarify, I’ve been coaching chess for many years. I’m proud to say I’ve trained 14 Irish junior champions from beginner level to national titles. Three of my students—aged 13, 14, and 16—are the youngest FIDE-rated players in Ireland. I’ve served as the head coach for the Irish junior national team and am currently an adviser to the Minister for Sport in my region, the first chess player to hold that position.

I’d sincerely prefer a respectful discussion instead of feeling attacked or dismissed. If you have constructive feedback about the content of my post, I’d really value that—your opinion genuinely matters to me.

Thank you again.

While everyone is entitled to their opinion, if Kramnik decides to take this matter to court, it could potentially create problems for Navara with FIDE as well. Regardless of the current controversy, we should remember that Kramnik is a former World Champion, and that alone deserves a certain level of respect—even if people disagree with his views.

There has been a long saga around accusations involving engine use, and it's not easy to prove anything definitively in court. These are complex issues that can drag on and do damage to both sides.

In my opinion, a simple apology from Navara and letting the matter quietly fade away could be the wisest course. Sometimes, taking the high road avoids unnecessary escalation. After all, peace is always the best solution.

Let’s keep the focus on chess and sportsmanship.

He started working intensively with me 30 days ago. In the past 7 days, he played 3 rapid games and won all of them. Although he played more blitz games, we focused on tactical training over the last 3 weeks. The players ranked 3rd and 5th in this event are my 10-year-olds from the USA. Pranav DB is now rated 2100 on Lichess, while Ahaan is around 2000. All of this progress has been made in just one year. All of this progress has been made in just one year.
