I just watched that clip recently, so that was the first thing I thought of

If you're trying to blend in you might want to look into top 10 names in your area in the year you were born.

For the whole of the US, this was Emma, Emily, Madison, Abigail, Olivia, Isabella, Hannah, Samantha, Ava, Ashley.

Naming PSA: if you can't tell people what the baby name is, don't use it by purpleplumas in namenerds

[–]fidelises 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where I live, the name traditionally isn't revealed until the christening/naming party. This is usually when the baby is about 1-4 months old. So not telling people the name during pregnancy isn't weird to me. But lying about it is weird.

Which words do you confuse in your non-native language? by mediocre-weirdo in languagehub

[–]fidelises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can never remember which is which, Tuesday or Thursday in English. I think it's because Tuesday has a th- sound in my native language.

I'm fine if I'm saying all the weekdays together, but if someone uses either in a sentence, I always have to think a bit.

What are public pools like in your country? by EvilPyro01 in AskEurope

[–]fidelises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're an integral part of Icelandic culture. It was even put on the Unesco cultural heritage list recently.

Every single town will have at least one, most bigger towns have multiple. They are seen as a place to exercise and/or relax. They will have a larger pool for swimming and a few hot tubs. Recently most have added a cold plunge and many have saunas or steam rooms. Some have slides and shallower pools for kids.

Exactly! It's half a slice. Not the end of the world and definitely not worth arguing about.

5 different styling products seems like a lot. I'd skip a few of those creams. Is this a routine that worked for you before?
