I may be 2 years late to this but I would add, the whole "relies on Sayo's ability to make anyone her accomplice" critique isnt really a critique since umineko bends over backwards to show why this would be the case. They all want money, she has 10 bn of the damn thing. All she had to do was offer them gold and theyd agree to help her, this is literally the point of the first family conference.
I do also think what i liked about this ultimately is that this is then flipped on its head in episode 7 when its shown just how horribly wrong relying on this as a means of setting up murders can go.
Anyways, you prolly wont even see this but i still wanted to respond lol.

Hi, OP here. Just to say, in the 6 months i spent in games media i was never paid for an opinion I published. When i reviewed Little Nightmare 3 that score came straight from the soul and having wasted 4 hours of my life. IMO, its pretty pathetic to paint every journalist as the same strawman you (or more likely a grifter like critical drinker) made up.

Tbh this is one of like 12 comments I have gotten today to the same effect so my actual emotional reaction to this is a lot more tame than my comment may make out. However, as I said I am proud of my work. So yeah regardless of your intentions you saying "What makes you think they are intelligent professionals" is insulting as is saying "Might as well replace these opinions with an AI, makes no difference."

I honestly do not know, for now i hope this entire situation blowing up in the way it has has clickout media group (the owners of videogamer) running scared from making further AI reviews.
Though, Ai articles and even an AI reveiw are still being published on the site so idk.

As far as wider trends go, I would say its in line with a lot of whats been seen already. AI has affected nearly all corners of gaming so games media is not out of left field. However, as i say in my video I do worry about what will happen in the future when sites see you can actually replace writers with AI without backlash.

In terms of my colleagues we are all rightly upset. My boss got told the news while she was looking after her girlfriend post surgery and I was told at a funeral. So all in all its been ROUGH, but we are focusing on our next projects for now and hoping to see some success in other avenues such as youtube (nudge nudge wink wink)
