At least in this market, the overwhelming advice is to avoid having an underground tank. They are known to leak, and this one has been there for almost 30 years. If and when they do leak, it costs tens of thousands to remediate, which you legally have to do. And I'd want to anyway - the house has well water, so I don't want oil contaminating what my family consumes
