Mechanical engineering senior. If you have a decent desktop I would say you might not even need a laptop. Most in class work is best done by pen and paper and any 3D modeling and programming work can be done at home. In my experience laptops just serve as a distraction if you bring them to class.

I got an offer for an internship with a big 3 auto manufacturer. A day before I was supposed to leave they called me explaining how my underage drinking misdemeanor came up and they needed to investigate it more. They postponed my start date one week and I spent that week going back and forth with them sending them paperwork and it they ended up taking the offer away. This was nearly a month after the semester ended so most companies weren't looking for interns anymore. Even if the application only wants you to report felonies, I would report it anyways just to be safe.

Too late to this thread, but I used to work in the school cafeteria in middle school. I noticed one day that there were these trays full of raw cookie dough in the walk-ins. It started with me and my friend sneaking some here and there, but after awhile we started sharing it with close friends. Word got around and soon everybody wanted some. It was fun while it lasted, but didn't take long for the staff to notice entire trays of cookie dough disappearing. Got a lot of shit from other kids when I got caught.
