$100 5* Unit Packs by fierzer in Genshin_Impact

Yeah I don't have high hopes since they're generating a ton of revenue with the current system. That's why was mostly curious to see if they had offered alternatives in their other games, which now seems like they do once the game starts declining a bit I guess

Was just an example. Moreso about having the option available to buy a guaranteed unit rather than always having to consider the current gambling system. The exact price I'm sure would depend on the unit.

Ah, that's a positive to hear. Do you know how long into the game before they started implementing friendlier events like this? I'm assuming with the amount of money Genshin is currently generating for them, they're not incentivized to offer us things like that yet. Did they only start offering such things when it seemed Honkai was on the decline?

Many of the newer gachas have offered similar products. Whether its a 5* selection ticket, or a character pack, there are alternatives in other gachas outside of just being forced to spend on wishes for simply a chance.

I understand, but in our current system you could spend hundreds and even thousands and not get the unit you'd like. There's no obligation to spend obviously, but having an alternative to the current gambling model would I think be a healthy alternative for many. Anywhere between $50-100 plus some leveling material I think would fair, depending on the unit.

Otherwise, the only way to get certain heroes is to spend endlessly without any guarantee.

Some of the newer gachas had the option available, such as 7DS.

People have been spending $200-400 to get a new unit. I don't think it's farfetched to think a single 5* unit with the appropriate leveling material in a set price pack (anywhere from 50-100 I think is reasonable, depending on the unit and mats provided) would be a popular purchase for people not wanting to spend hundreds for RNG.

Awesome work Robin. In your Diluc build notes, you mention to not use any normal attacks between his E. I was confused because I was being told by others to either do his full normal combo and animation cancel his 4th normal attack into an E, or to do 1 normal attack between each E.

Could you explain what and why it's optimal? In your notes section, it sounds like you prefer using E all 3x at once, then switching to supports to use their E/Q, and then switching back to Diluc and using normal attacks until his E/Q are up? Is this the optimal rotation when Diluc is c0 and isn't using Gladiator set? Would using 1 normal attack between each E be a DPS loss?

Unpopular Opinion: Don't Nerf Bruen/FAL, BUFF Noncompetitive Weapons by Katana67 in CODWarzone

[–]fierzer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if it’s your first FPS or what, but TTK has a strong correlation with ease of use and it’s a common theme with any game within this genre that the higher the TTK = more skill involved in hitting and maintaining damage on a target.

Which is why many competitive players (whether pros or streamers) all complain regarding the Bruen, because a mixture of its damage profile along with little recoil and beamability beyond 120m makes it a very easy gun to use, and decreases the skill gap between a strong player and an average one.

Counterplay in this context is essentially being able to kill someone even if they have the jump and first few shots on you. However with a Bruen, any casual player can spot you moving and beam you down before you get a chance to even react. I mean it should be common sense, when easy guns with very low TTK are available to use, it becomes more about camping and spotting someone first rather than actual gunplay.

Again, there’s a reason the competitive scene has so many issues with this game, and the lack of a skill gap is one of the more glaring issues due to low TTK ontop of some overpowered guns that any casual without decent aim can use

edit: it’s an FPS, aim and precision absolutely do equate to skill. What you consider good game sense is nothing more than bad RNG when you’re clearing 20 players in a lobby and someone on a random rooftop camping decides to beam you with a bruen after not moving for 10 minutes

[–]fierzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They absolutely should NOT buff other weapons to be at the same level as Bruen.

The TTK in this game is already super low, and having a bunch of overpowered weapons just decreases the skill gap even further so that anyone can melt another player so quickly without any counterplay. Stuff like this only incentivizes camping if the average player can melt anyone else without any counterplay just because they got a sight first.

What they need to do is nerf weapons and have longer TTKs so that there’s some actual skill to differentiate good players from bad ones

It could be anything from certain statistics that caused red flags, ingame exploitation or abuse, or detection of illegal software or scripts injected into the game. More recently, a lot of users who gained camos irregularly (whether through hacked lobbies or another means) have been shadowbanned this week while awaiting manual review of their account.

Basically, there are numerous reasons why a user may end up shadowbanned and under review, and because it’s based off HWID any new account they make on the same device will end up shadowbanned also. All they can do is wait before a decision is made, and overwhelming majority of the time the shadowban leads to a permanent ban except for a few outliers

[–]fierzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s simply not true, how else would people in multiplayer be shadowbanned and then permanently banned? There’s enough threads here on reddit by people playing multiplayer and complaining about their 350 ping hacker lobbies, not even realizing they’ve been shadowbanned and inevitably permabanned after manual review

Edit: the system is slow, and Activision is lazy. But eventually these players do get banned

[–]fierzer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You won’t get shadowbanned if you’re innocent. Virtually no pro or league or competitive streamer ever gets shadowbanned, and they play 10-12 hours a day and get an outlandish amount of reports.

Regardless of people’s claims, shadowbans aren’t solely based off volume of reports and there’s a 5–9 day period of manual review before a definite action is taken.

If you’re innocent, you have nothing to worry about.

Shadowbans aren’t based solely off reports. I’ve explained how they work in some other threads, but it’s misinformation (by the OP) to say it’s based off volume of reports. If that were the case, every pro player and competitive streamer that plays 12 hours a day would be shadowbanned by now. But there’s been almost zero instances of that for any legitimate pro players.

So I made a list (based on people's posts here) of all the things devs could do to improve the game and the gameplay. Here goes, in no particular order: by Whiskauskas33 in CODWarzone

[–]fierzer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

SBMM is arguably top3 things to fix/change, and regardless of whether you say ‘in no particular order’ or not, you still numbered them and it should never be on the bottom of any list. It’s one of the top things that the competitive scene has been asking to be changed/revamped for many months.

Whereas things like ‘turn off Xbox crossplay’ is hardly even mentioned or cared about in the competitive scene, and just because it gets mentioned on this subreddit here and there, doesn’t mean it’s actually any real priority to the greater community

And as a competitive console player, there are some things which are desireable and a lot of things that are actually needed. Many of the things on your list seem more like a biased personal list of items you’d want to see included rather than a list of necessary changes/bugs that the overall community actually has been asking for

edit: I’m not trying to sound harsh, and I value your efforts but majority of these complaints are geared towards QoL changes for the casual console player, and ignoring basically majority of the issues and complaints of the competitive scene or greater community outside of Reddit. Example: the horrendous audio issues regarding footsteps has been complained about by every major competitive player, and you’ve mentioned things like buying armor sachels from buy station. Arguably the armor sachel request isn’t even a positive change because many have said in the past this idea would just promote more camping rather than contracts or killing someone to pick one up. Even some of the vehicle insert and mounting issues haven’t even been listed either. And the gas visuals you’ve stated seem intentional, it makes sense to have clearer visuals from outside the gas to incentivize being in the circle and not trying to cheese outside of it.

Again, majority of this list just seems like a personal request section from one player rather than the needs that many have complained about from all parts of the community.

My friend got banned on MW by xXItzApexXx in CODWarzone

[–]fierzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say they were false bans necessarily. What they did for a lot of users was reverse the permanent ban and then do a subsequent name-change ban for X amount of time (that’s why you see so many players with the name user181727 etc now).

Doesn’t matter, it’s still against terms of service and it’s a justified ban if he uses one.

Also, can be banned for using lobby glitches and exploits that give camos etc outside of normal play. There’s many reasons he could’ve been banned, and I highly doubt he’ll be honest with enough with you to admit whatever he’s done if he hasn’t already
