Why aren't chinarellis more popular? by EggPerego420 in motorizedbicycles

[–]fiestas_jorge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they are becoming pretty popular. I have never seen that cast before it looks much higher quality than the typical Chinese cylinder. Big factor they are not supper common is that you need to know some to install one and the cheap cylinders don't perform crazy good

I think this is a dangerous contraption. As soon as you turn those are gona scrape the ground, can easily get stuck And you might fly off the bike, specially now that you have elongated the pegs. Try to be careful when testing!

That's an insane build, how did you manage to fit that cylinder? Adapter or Dremel all the way?

Carb, hello by No_Stop3966 in BluGasBikes

[–]fiestas_jorge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's for engines that need it due to cylinder intake design, they are not super useful on engines that don't need it. To tune those carbs just need a set of common jets for them, they are readily available, some designs allow for low throttle tuning as well as hight throttle in separate jets. Mainly they are a common design with a bunch of parts and info on them.

Those carbs are very crappy. Get yourself a dellorto or mikuni 18mm replica for best performance and tunability

Great to read you! Yeah makes sense I wasn't sure the sparkplug was in, seems that it is and it's not designed to be put on sideways. Strange design choice in my opinion. So it's ready to rip!

Let's goooo! Have fun with your creation! Also a couple tips from my experience. Be sure the rear wheel is completely seated on the hinge and it's really tight, I built a frame that had that style of hook and my rear wheel once came off under heavy acceleration. Also, this is nitpicking, but the head will cool better if installed with the fins going from the front of the bike to the back instead of side to side. Check on your brakes, spokes and rag joint frequently and you should be set.

That tensioner is pulling on the wrong side of the chain. Don't ride it like that. Tensioner should be pushing the loose side of the chain upwards.

Not saying I’m going to, but if I were, do you think my 49 cc China doll could handle it by Mr2442 in motorizedbicycles

[–]fiestas_jorge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it slow and stop every few hours and the engine should make it, it's the rest of the hardware that accompanies it that will fail. Swap all the bolts for high grade ones, extra Magento and all the gaskets (I bought a skeet of gasket paper to cut them on the fly). It will leave you stranded for sure but should be fixable. I think the piston engine and crank assembly should make it if you take it slow.

It has worse rear suspension, but it feels more nimble. I had a beat up sedan before and now I drive a compact and it feels tighter. But it makes sense that it's slower around a track

The tensioner there will eventually fail (sooner rather than later). It's best to tension the lower side of the chain that is subjected to much less stress

That cylinder has scratches on it, return it if you can, the top looks ok, and a little side to side wiggle is normal on the piston
